Cool Party Favors
There was plenty of sequins thanks to the shimmering emerald green dress, gold sequined fabric and metallic cake. Then there are the gorgeous shoes and clutch bag from WWW favorite Rainbow Club that I’m happy to see here.
1920s Wedding Ideas. Marking her 100th birthday, it was inspired by the stunning ‘Lunatic’ dress from ‘Lucy Can’t Dance’. The detailing with the multicolored sequins is amazing and it’s even more beautiful in person, seeing the different colors in different lights! It also fits perfectly with a theme that embodies the style of the 1920s but at the same time looks modern.
Choosing key design elements from the 20s, I wanted to celebrate the style of the Art Deco era, but give it a modern twist today, by combining it with neon signs, sequin walls and modern table styling. Geometric shapes are mirrored by detailed chairs that also add a touch of glamor as well as Art Deco-inspired stationery, cake patterns and cake backdrops. I wanted this area to make a statement, so I loved the idea of layering the background with a black geometric stand and a gold sequin wall. Gold coasters were used for the cake stand and also as centrepieces, to again stand out and work in keeping with the geometric theme.
S Modern Mid Century Wedding
Celebrating the prominent use of gold, I added cut glass with gold details and gold geometric flatware. White marble is also a key element to add a luxurious feel to the shoot, with marble dinner plates and stationery. For the flowers, I wanted a bold and contemporary look so I chose large foliage to add drama and then mixed in pink roses and orchids. Two different designs were made for the bridal crown – one traditional 20’s with beads and worn low on the forehead and another large and geometric. Both fit the look and feel of the shoot and show how different styles can be used together to create an eclectic feel.
I carried through the use of sequins with the table linen and draping of the ceremony frame and used the classic bead necklace popular in the 20s, as a decorative element. These are hung on table centerpieces, ceremony frames and even in bouquets. Gin was considered the ‘drink of the 1920s’, so gin bottles were used as vases.
Although the styling is modern, I wanted a period piece to contrast and match both the 1920s and today. The beautiful Moxhull Hall fits the bill perfectly, with its unique period features and beautiful gardens, it is also a luxurious venue for today’s brides. The shoot was beautifully shot by Gina Fernandes Photography, capturing the elegance of the 1920s but also showing an element of fun.

Let’s be real: When you get carried away, some wedding themes can be gimmicky. And if it’s been done a few times, it can sound boring and unoriginal. The Roaring ’20s theme, a trend since 2013, when the last film version of The Great Gatsby hit the big screen, should have reached the annals of history by now. Yet luxury, glamor and envy remain.
However, we hold a special place in our hearts for the timeless appeal of Art Deco weddings. Even if they are called the lost generation, the artists of that era were definitely on to something – interesting designs full of distinctive silhouettes, sharp geometries and luxury still stand the test of time – and as is proven today, it loses this timeless clean quality when cast in a soirée in the name of love. If anything, the Art Deco influence in weddings has evolved into a more subtle touch, often given a modern refresh that only enhances their charismatic aesthetic.
Ways To Create 1920s Wedding Themes [with Great Gatsby Glamour]
A classic black-and-gold palette will always hit the right note, but so will a dirty gray resin with luxurious accents like bright white, green, and some gilded glitter and glam. Geometric embellishments still get a lot of attention in the clean modern palette – use them to your advantage with gold or diamond triangles as a party backdrop or hanging centerpieces to evoke the strong, bold lines of the era. Ditch the 1920s typography on your stationery and signs for a realistic feel, subtle vintage accessories like bar trolleys or candlesticks, and the flappers’ choice: champagne. And don’t forget to drive into the night in your vintage vacation car!
The geometric ceremony background with floating golden triangles is a nod to the precise and clear lines of Art Deco form.
If Gatsby was having a garden party, you know he wouldn’t dream of leaving behind a gold sequined tablecloth. To showcase the ultimate in 1920s luxury and opulence, add soft accent garlands of baby’s breath and greenery.

A classic black, gold and ivory palette creates a moody and elegant feel with a mix of vintage and modern candle holders and contrasting hues.
A sumptuous lounge with luxurious cushions, velvet furnishings, sequin accents and heirloom designs is the perfect place to relax in the middle of a Roaring’ 20s wedding.
