Start by measuring the length of your desired chain and cut 1 3/4 times this length of bunting. Then fold the fabric: First lay the fabric down, wrong side up. To make a single pleat box, fold the two edges of the blue block and fold the two pleats together in the middle, covering the blue; the red and white stripes will come up. It’s a good idea to sprinkle with starch and iron the pleats as you go; sew along the top using a straight stitch.

Fold the accordion tissue in several layers and drill with a star punch. Unclip them to the lantern using a store-bought medium or a homemade mix – combining white glue with one part water. To create a cascading star pattern, as shown here, cluster stars closer together at the top of the lantern and glue the stars further apart towards the bottom. Instructions: Make a cheese plate by alternating red, white and then blue foods in an attractive pattern. Make sure the table or plate is full (toppings are good) with options for small bites. For Cheese Stars: Using a small star cookie cutter, cut white cheese into star shapes for an extra 4th of July pop. (I used White Cheddar Barrel Shredder Slices to make the star cheese easier to work with)
The key to this drink is layering different juices with different sugar content. The heaviest juice (red layer) or the juice with the most sugar goes to the bottom of the glass.
Finally, the last juice (the blue layer) should have the least amount of sugar, allowing this juice to stay suspended above the other two layers.

Using a spoon, pour the pina colada mixture onto the spoon and into the glass. There may be color mixing …but if the sugar content is correct, the white layer will settle and a layer on top of the red layer.
