I think when people hear “fall decorating”, they automatically imagine covering every surface with pumpkins. And while I love pumpkins, I agree that August and even early September is too early to put pumpkins out!

Thrifty And Chic

I’m sharing 8 easy ways to bring some fun vibes into our home for early fall. Use one or all to add some fall charm to your home this year!

An easy way to incorporate some fall comfort is to bring some warm metallic colors into your home. I used mercury glass candles in soft gold, dark gold and copper! I love the cozy glow they bring to our fireplace and coffee table arrangement!!

There is something so beautiful about wood tones, especially in the fall. I brought the wood tone into this room in a few different ways. First I removed all of the spring and summer butterfly elements and replaced them with wooden baskets that I’ve been growing all summer! Of course the baskets can be used all year round but I love the way they look paired with the metal candle holders! My mom gave me this awesome giant basket and I paired it with a basket I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby from their spring line. I love the pink tone in the basket! I also added a large basket to my coffee table that I used as a base layer for the coffee table arrangement I created.

Soft And Subtle Fall Decorating Ideas

A quick and easy way to decorate with fall leaves. Of course when you think of fall leaves, you’re probably imagining orange leaves. Instead of using orange leaves I used more subtle leaves. I also used pink / red stems in the owl vase on my mantel. I love how the pink/red color matches the pink in the Hobby Lobby basket I found on clearance for $2!

There is something so welcoming and comforting about candles! Grab the most amazing Scandinavian candle holder I found in my DecorSteels Fall Box! The shape of the candle holder and when lit is magical! Place it as the centerpiece of a coffee table arrangement. Layer metal candle holders on top of some books and place wooden beads in the basket!

You might not associate pink with autumn but I love how the unexpected pops of pink play with the wood tones and baskets. Pink makes the space look less fall than more traditional fall colors. I think that when decorating, you should use colors and objects that make you happy. Pink brings me joy year round and I believe you can incorporate any color into your decor year round!

Now’s the time to show off those cozy throws you’ve been storing for spring. I put some patterned throws on the blanket ladder in the corner of my room. I also have the coziest, chunky bearby weighted blanket on our couch. It’s so velvety and the light pink color is so pretty!

Another way to bring a cozy glow to your home is through lanterns. I found these wood lanterns on clearance and brought them from outside to our fireplace mantel. I use a battery operated lamp inside. The lights I have are on a timer so they turn on for a few hours in the evening. You can use a lantern anywhere — by the fireplace like I did, but also on a shelf, on your dining room table or even on the counter or island in your kitchen!
