Besides picking them straight from the vine, farmers markets are practically a guarantee of delicious vegetables and fruits! It’s a great place to spend a warm, cool afternoon soaking in the wonderful aromas of flowers, produce and freshly baked pies.
One of our valued customers, Stephanie, decided to recreate a farmer’s market atmosphere for her daughter Rory’s fourth birthday party. Stephanie has kept a simple rustic theme and subdued colors to her small market selection of flowers, fruits and vegetables. She has designed a party that is very easy to recreate yourself. You may have some of these items lying around the house ready to be repurposed in a new and exciting way.

Her dinner table set the mood for the entire party. This is the heart of Rory’s Little Farmer’s Market! To start, Stephanie covered the table with a white tablecloth and a rustic runner. Our blush pink pinstripe tablecloth is another great choice to match the rose gold and pale pink color scheme. She used our rose gold steel rose print bunting banner to add a subtle touch of glamour. A pink and white tent hung over the table, completing the farmer’s market look.

Stephanie repurposed wooden crickets to create depth on her table and mimic the shape of the fruit and vegetable credenza at the market. Mason jars and tin milk jars are filled with fresh flowers around the party, and simple kitchen tools like colanders preserve natural products. Stephanie displayed some eggs in a piece from an egg container. Cute little signs that say “handpicked” and “freshly baked” on the table make the offerings look like they’re actually for sale!
We absolutely love how sustainable and eco-friendly this party was. Stephanie has the most adorable cookies that are shaped and frosted to look like fruits and vegetables. She displayed it all in recycled strawberry cartons. If you want to reuse something after your party, our pink berry basket set is a great choice and it comes with a small spout for washing the berries.
For dessert, Stephanie made beautiful cupcakes. Each one is frosted to match the fresh flowers around the party. They are displayed on top of a wooden box near a shelf of flowers. Stephanie’s handmade flower market sign was the perfect touch to help add to the atmosphere of the market. Cupcakes were served on pink and white charger plates and gold foil beads on small dessert paper plates. Large pink gingham scalloped paper plates are another great option to use as a charger, and the gingham design is perfect for a farmers market look. Our rose gold steel cocktail napkins are on hand to clean up any messy little hands.

Stephanie created a refreshment corner behind the destro decorated with a charming farm coat sign and a tin vase of flowers. A tin bucket filled with ice and fruit-flavored seltzer bottles. Above the small table is a rack of mason jars that can be used as cups if one wants guests. For a child-safe option, our rose gold foil cups are perfect. They match the color scheme of the party and add some sparkle. Moreover, you don’t have to worry about broken glass in case of any incident. Stephanie also has some tats designed for the party and fruit and veggie hair clips ready to hand out to all of Rory’s friends. Our pink pumpkin hair clips are a great choice to match this theme.
When it was finally cake time, Stephanie displayed the cake in plain fare. The crate is covered in a small white runner with pink flowers. You can also use something like our pastel pink classic striped table runner. The cake sits on a scalloped pink cake stand similar to our Medium Bamboo Fiber Cake Stand.
The cake Stephanie made for Rory was minimal but simply stunning. It’s a layered bundt cake decorated with Rory’s favorites: strawberries and blueberries. Stephanie designed a cake topper just for Rory. If you don’t want to get a custom made topper, a garden party cake topper is perfect with all the flowers. Rory celebrated her birthday by blowing out four of our 6” pink ombre tall wax candles.

When the party finally rolled around, Stephanie came up with the perfect and most original party favors that fit the farmer’s market theme perfectly. She simply went to her local grocery store and picked up several different flavors of mini pies. Each one is tied with a cute little bow to give it a more complete look.
