Catholic Icing Altar Servers Appreciation Table Decorations – I made these cookies 5 years ago, I enjoyed making them because as you could see I tend to make more “girly” cookies like I have a daughter and sometimes it’s hard for me to think “Boys” cookies. And these cookies were a gift for a nephew, so I had to think outside of my “girly” color palette and think about what a boy might like besides a good cookie.

For the green frosting, I used equal parts food gel coloring in moss (avocado works too) and electric green.

I made a medium consistency frosting in green and purple and put some in a piping bag with a #1 decorating tip and then added a little water to get a runny frosting in both colors.

I love LOL Cookie, I used edible markers to write a bible verse which is one of my favorites.

If you don’t have a lot of time to decorate cookies like some of these, you can make a simple dove cake and add a little green accent like a twig and use edible markers to make the eyes.

The Catholic Mass is a visible sign of communion in Christ between God and humanity. Several moving parts (choirs, speakers, greeters, etc.) come together each week to celebrate this great work

After a grand liturgy, you might ask out loud, “Pray tell, how could this particular group of people have such a fulfilling and life-giving experience? Every aspect, from the opening procession to the closing song, was woven into one organic whole.” Cooperation with the Holy Spirit makes Jesus available in the liturgy.

The SMTC Altar Server program is both traditional and unique. The altar arm accompanies our priests and bishops during Catholic mass and various celebrations. New altar servers are trained and installed each year and commit to serving at least two weekend Masses each month throughout the year. Beginning with the Easter Triduum as a source of light, the new age of resurrection fills the entire liturgical year with its brilliance. Little by little, the year is transformed by the liturgy. Each liturgical season means a change of color, both in church decorations and clothes. Divine color coordination constantly draws God’s people into the mysteries of the Catholic faith and marks the different seasons not according to chronology, but rather according to Christology.

The beauty of both our places of worship is amazing. Each place of worship has sublime artistic qualities as well as magnificent architectural features spanning over 100 years. We still invite those who have a flair for interiors to join our decorating department. Mrs. Elizabeth Masangcay and MS. Barbara Hudren serves as a leader in this ministry.

The Catholic Spirit

“In each of our lives, Jesus comes as the bread of life – for us to eat, for us to eat. This is how he loves us. Then Jesus comes to our human lives as one hungry, the other hoping to be filled with his life’s bread, the heart with love and the hands service.” — St. Teresa of Calcutta

Research tells us that when a person comes to a new place of worship for the very first time, it usually only takes an average of seven minutes to decide whether they will ever return. First impressions can be last impressions. A Greeter can help our congregation make a good first impression on newcomers.

Greeters and Ushers not only welcome individuals to the place of worship, but also distribute hymnals, collect tithes and donations, distribute bulletins, and help set up after Mass at all weekend Masses.

“Continue to love one another as brothers and sisters. Remember to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done so have entertained angels without realizing it!” — Hebrews 13:1-2

Renew My Church reflects this biblical passage and reminds all parishes in the archdiocese to build a culture of hospitality. Hospitality Ministers help provide a warm and welcoming experience to all in attendance. They not only help prepare food for receptions, but help create an environment that allows people to meet each other. The Lord is also really present at the table among family and friends. By serving as servants of hospitality, we show love to our sisters and brothers and in turn to Christ himself.

For more information about this ministry, or if you are interested in becoming a Minister of Hospitality, please contact George Lee at the Parish Office either by email or at 312-842-6777 (STWS) or 312-842-7979 (SBWS).

The Liturgy of the Word is part of all communion celebrations. The reading of the Holy Scriptures is intended to arouse a response of faith in the hearers. When the word is preached, Christ himself speaks. Having met Christ in the Word, people enter with deeper appreciation into the heart of the celebration. The signs accompanying this reading emphasize its dignity, the use of a beautiful book and the procession with the Gospel book.

The Church carries out Christ’s healing ministry in different ways. The care department looks after those admitted to hospital, nursing homes or confined to private homes. Ministers are trained and formed to make pastoral visits in time to listen and pray for the concerns of sick or withdrawn persons and share communion with them.

Catholic Icing Altar Servers Appreciation Table Decorations

A person who cares for the sick and withdrawn needs to have specific qualities and gifts, including listening, compassion and empathy, non-judgmental thinking, reliability, devotion and following, prayer, gentle demeanor and commitment to constant training and spiritual development. Serving as a minister of care is not voluntary work; it is a ministry. It is therefore important that the priests do not act for themselves, but on behalf of the Church.

For more information about this ministry, or if you are interested in becoming a minister of care, please contact Sr. Caritas at the parish office either by email or at 312-842-6777 (STWS) or 312-842-7979 (SBWS).

The music ministry at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta has a long tradition of quality and resonance, connecting God’s people in our congregation with heart experiences and prayers – both liturgical and concert. At the heart of our music program are many dedicated volunteers, singers and instrumentalists.

With many masses celebrated every Sunday, occasional concerts and special holiday liturgies, there are many opportunities for talented volunteers to get involved in our music ministry. While Sunday singing is central to our service, there are some members who sing
