Center Table Decorative Items
Center Table Decorative Items – I am a fan of beautiful coffee table decorations! As I took a closer look at the two coffee tables in my home, I realized that there are five decorating staples that I use all the time, and today I’m going to share them with you, one by one!
I always use a large tray on my coffee table. always. I love how they keep everything organized, and if I want to clear the coffee table for play or dish out, I can simply lift up the tray and take everything out. Trays are also a great way to keep things interesting by adding a contrasting texture or color.

For the coffee table in our family room, we used a large 28-inch wooden tray that took up a large portion of the coffee table while leaving room for my husband to throw up his feet. With that – lol!):

I had a harder time finding a square tray with a large handle that I liked, but I finally found the perfect tray on Etsy. The store I bought from no longer exists, but you can find almost identical trays at . Available in a variety of colors with a matte or gloss velvet finish. These large trays are expensive, but they will last me for years. I like that if I change the color scheme later, I can repaint it without having to buy a new tray.
The coffee table/ottoman in the living room usually uses a light fabric tray to add some shine and texture. My favorite is the good size and affordable price for such a large tray.

For you, add a felt pad to the bottom of the woven tray to avoid scratching the coffee table! Here are some other favorite coffee table trays that work great too.
I use flowers and natural elements throughout the house. Because it adds to life in a way that nothing else can. During the summer, when my garden is full of flowers, I keep a small fresh bouquet on my coffee table.
You can add more life and personality by arranging your flowers in something unique, like this brass swan planter that I’m almost obsessed with (similar planters can be found here).

If you don’t have flowers to pick from your garden, buy $5 bouquets of tulips at the grocery store or add plants for less maintenance. This snake plant on the coffee table in our living room is the best.
And I love having myself in the stack of books at the end of the coffee table. This is another way to bring nature closer to this space.
There’s no shame in faking it! I recently bought raspberries and two of them make the cutest little arrangement.

And after moving the snake plant upstairs, I’m using 3 of these fake eucalyptus branches (found) on the ottoman in the living room.
Other natural elements can also be used to add life. Bowls with pine cones, feathers or marine elements such as driftwood, shells and corals are just a few ideas. The great thing about natural elements is that there are so many that you can find and use right from your doorstep for free!
Books are one of my favorite coffee table decorating ideas. Perfect for adding a layered look, it’s also nice to have an interesting coffee table book for family and guests to pick up and read. Since I’m a design lover, most of them (surprisingly) focus on design. A book about a vacation in your area, a favorite state or country, or a favorite hobby can also be a great choice.

You can also consider importing multiple photos from your phone and computer. This is my future coffee table goal! And if you want to add some color or pattern to your coffee table, this is an easy way to use up your favorite fabric scraps.
If you’re a design lover like me and looking for a good coffee table book, here are a few books that have great content on the inside and look beautiful on the outside.
Along with the pile of books on the coffee table, I always add a couple or two. These can be pretty much anything from a large gold arm (similar) to a decorative magnifier from the cloth-covered book above, or a small piece of coral like this:

Decorative boxes are the best! There are so many beautiful options and they are great for storing things you don’t want cluttering up your table. The coffee table in the living room has a spare TV remote, a remote for lights, and a photo flash drive that I occasionally need while using my laptop in the sectional.
Once you have these essentials in place, it’s time to have some fun and add some quirks you like! For me it’s often a brass animal (#obsession) like this pair of brass cranes (similar available).

Who doesn’t love falling into a Pinterest hole of divine style inspiration? But the hardest part is taking these ideas and applying them to the table at home.
Today I’d like to get under the hood of your car and give you some practical table styling tips to help you put your key ideas into practice. And yes, “getting under the hood of a car” is the only automotive reference you’ll hear me talk about on this blog! I’ve never been under the hood of a real car, but it’s not as fun as making dining room centerpieces.
Also, fair warning: we’re going to go into some detail below, so be prepared to dig deep. We’ll also give you advice on the three main shapes of the dining table: round, square and rectangular. Because there are so many ways it can go horribly wrong. So let’s change things up so we have the confidence to do this (fun) job.
Standout Dining Table Décor Ideas
Less is more when considering dining table centerpiece ideas for the round table. I don’t mean less drama, I just mean less.
A round dining table just needs a “moment” in the middle. Otherwise, the whole scene will look too busy.
Now, when we say a “moment,” we don’t necessarily mean an object. Of course, you can keep the table simple by placing a large vase with a beautiful bouquet of flowers or leaves in the center of the table (like the Globewest image above). But a moment can also be a collection of objects sitting together in the center of a circular table.
Old Meets New: Colorful Fall Table Decorations
Here is the problem. If you group several objects in the middle of a table, they must be meaningful and held together. When I say include, what I mean is that it shouldn’t be spread randomly across the table.
If you remove random objects from the table (especially all of similar height) it will read as unresolved or improperly styled.
The image above (via pricehometickets) is a good example.
