Cheap Christmas Table Decor Ideas
Big DIY projects aren’t on the cards for the Christmas break! Goodness knows, simplicity is my understanding during busy seasons! If you’re planning your Christmas table and looking for some quick and simple things you can do to make it unique and special this year, this blog post will help! I’m excited to share some really easy and simple DIY things you can do for Christmas table decoration ideas this year!
Diy Christmas Decorations That’ll Make Your Home Festive
I play around with using a few different things around my house, budget-friendly or thrifted finds, and easy little crafts. I’m going to share them here and hope it helps with your Christmas table decoration ideas and planning!
If you have kids who are a bit older, this is a fun way to get them involved too. After all, aren’t most of us moms looking for something to keep the kids busy during Christmas break?!
So, let’s get started! I’ll keep it short and simple because you probably don’t have time to read a long post at this point in the season! Am I correct?!?! More time to create, more time to enjoy, and maybe even a minute to put your feet up and enjoy the magic of the season!
Diy Christmas Centerpieces
If you follow our family, you know that music is a big part of our lives! In fact, we added a cello player and a French horn player to the mix this year. There is always music playing and sometimes an interesting mix of sounds. Hahahaha! However, there is something very memorable about music at Christmas time!
Thrift stores and flea markets are perfect places to find old music for your Christmas table decoration ideas. I found a huge music book that was really cheap at a flea market for only $2. I cut out some pages and they make perfect placemats!
It’s also a great choice if you’re entertaining a large group. You can get a lot of music out of a book without spending a lot of money! Who doesn’t want a cute, unique, budget-friendly option for the season?! Old music is also perfect for Christmas table decoration ideas and many other DIY ideas.
Holiday Table Ideas On A Budget
Using old sheet music is also a great time saver for dinner after Christmas! Placemats do not need to be washed or ironed. You can easily get rid of any dirty placemats and pick up more economical sheet music!
Sheet music can also make a beautiful and unique table runner! For best results, overlap the sheet music, bending it slightly in different directions down the center of the table.
For a dramatic look, you can even glue the pieces together and cascade them at the end of the table!
Affordable Christmas Table Decor Ideas And Themes
There are so many ways you can make decorative card holders and it’s a great way to bring in some sort of Christmas theme! I took the simplest and easiest route by getting a box of unbreakable jewelry.
I love these neutral colors because guests can take them home as little party favors and the neutral color goes with everyone’s Christmas theme!
You can find inexpensive jewelry at any craft store or big box store. If you look around, you might even see tough people!
Free Or Cheap Christmas Decoration Ideas • Craving Some Creativity
I am lucky to have a daughter who spends a lot of time practicing her calligraphy skills! It’s a fun way to engage him (and save yourself some time too!).
This calligraphy book is where he started learning! This would make a great gift for the creative person on your list!
I had Peyton write everyone’s names on the ornaments and then put them on all the place settings. To add an extra little layer, I took a small waterfall of evergreens to place under each ornament.
Stunning Diy Tabletop Tree Ideas
I picked up some branches from the Christmas tree stand for free! They are usually happy to help you clean up by picking up branches off the ground. (And that’s another way to help kids!)
I love using different napkin rings, no matter the season. They’re a perfect (and easy!) way to make tablescapes stand out from each other, even with the same plates and napkins!
I’m often asked where I store all my tablescape items and my answer is simple: I don’t have as much “extra” stuff as you think! I have a lot of mix and match right now!
Christmas Decorating Ideas From Interior Designers
I have a lot of napkin rings, but they are small and don’t take up a lot of space!
For this tablescape, I wanted to create a more eclectic look. I took some ornaments from my family tree and used them for napkin rings! Another free decorating idea that still looks great and matches my decor!
Even though I mix and match jewelry, I only keep white jewelry. This gives the table an overall cohesive look, with each place setting having its own unique look!
Elegant & Easy Christmas Dining Room Decor Ideas
I put a small piece of cotton on each ornament and tied it to my handkerchief! It’s a breeze and doesn’t cost a dime! A simple ribbon or thread would be nice too!
Would also be really fun for a party! You can raid the jewelry aisle and pick out a piece of jewelry for each special guest! These would make a fun party favor as well as add a thoughtful touch to any place setting!
You can even make a game of having guests guess their seats, based on the decorations you choose!
Best Christmas Centerpieces To Set A Festive Table
Again, so many possibilities with just inexpensive jewelry! (And keep an eye out for them in the post-Christmas clearance sales, too!)
When trying to think of simple DIY Christmas table decorations…and especially free decorations…I can’t help but notice all the pinecones falling around our house! The kids helped me collect some pinecones and we made little bouquets for each place setting!
I added a cinnamon stick and a sprig of evergreen to each bouquet. It made the whole dining room very inviting and gave off all the cozy Christmas vibes! Using a simple piece of twine, the kids helped me tie together the pinecones, cinnamon sticks and evergreen boughs.
How To Style The Best Christmas Coffee Table Decor
If you want to add some color, you can use a ribbon that matches your theme! I love this velvet ribbon with so many colors!
My only expenses for these fragrant bouquets were cinnamon sticks, which I got at my grocery store. If you can’t run soon, you can order them here for immediate delivery!
They are a bit more expensive, but I love the different shapes and the cool look! There are a lot of them too, so you can make all kinds of crafts or sprinkle them on your centerpiece to tie it all together!

DIY Bell Napkin Ring for Christmas Table Decoration Ideas How do you make Christmas decorations for the table?
This might be my favorite of all the DIYs I tried for my Christmas table decorations this year! I love the simplicity, the beauty, the scent, and how easy it is to make!
When decorating a table for different seasons or holidays, I try to look around and see what I have that I can use. It also saves money and time from trips to the store.
Fabulous And Festive Christmas Table Setting Ideas
At the same time, keep an eye out for bulk items in the store’s seasonal sections. Inexpensive ornaments, tags, ribbons, and small decorations can be perfect for a budget-friendly Christmas tablescape!
These DIY bell napkin rings tie in beautifully with my Christmas “good tidings” theme. I have these big jingle bells on hand. I love the matte finish and the extra size!
You can also pick up a pack of 12 small jingle bells at the dollar store and they will work just as well!
Absolutely Gorgeous Christmas Table Decor And Setting Ideas
To make these napkin rings, I grabbed a package of fresh rose petals from the produce section of my grocery store. I wrapped them in a napkin, slid the bell on, and added a dot of hot glue to secure it.
I also love that you can use this idea before Christmas and during the winter, since it’s not really Christmas themed. The sleigh bells are used all winter long!
I like to think of the tablescape as an opportunity to create an experience. Consider the guests coming, the evening’s activities, the mood you want to create. Then, look for things that tell that story.
