With the new color palette and flocking tree, this might just be my favorite Christmas look of all time.
I am so excited to share our immaculately decorated living room for Christmas! I have to tell you, I have never decorated so early. Our family always waited until December to put up our tree and start celebrating Christmas. Since I started this blog, I realized that many of you are looking for decorating inspiration early on, so our Christmas starts now in November!
Last year, I chose a very subtle palette of blush pink, rose gold, and copper, and I was so excited when Better Homes and Gardens called to ask if they could take a photo of my decorated home for Christmas! oops! That magazine is currently on newsstands, so this year I wanted to do something completely different.

I came up with the idea of using flocking trees. We’ve never had a flocked tree before, but I’ve always loved the idea of this snow covered tree covered in beautiful ornaments and ribbons.
I chose a gorgeous 9′ Queen flock-King of Christmas Tree which is exactly what I had envisioned. It has the perfect amount of “snow” but still looks delicate. Putting a Christmas tree in our living room required moving some furniture and opening up a nook to accommodate a large tree.
I love how the tree fills the corners of the room and makes such a big statement. Although the base of this room is gray and cream, I decided to use burgundy and copper tones for the trees and trim.

It all started with a roll of ribbon I found in a Christmas box. This gorgeous wide copper ribbon with burgundy accents is the inspiration for all the Christmas decorations in my living room.
I added the ribbon to my new tree while doing a tutorial on how to put it on a Christmas tree and fell in love with how it looked. So I scoured my decor and decided on a warm copper tone with some burgundy and platinum accents throughout the room.
I started by adorning the tree with oversized frosted pinecone ornaments that were just the warm colors I wanted to incorporate. I also included some mini pine cone spray picks and gem fruit.

I filled the rest of the tree with copper, soft gold and platinum trim from previous years.
I ended up using a chunky knitted tree skirt to add a casual feel and a bit of country charm. This year I found an actual skirt, but in previous years I simply wrapped a knitted blanket around the base of my tree and made my own tree skirt.
Once I’ve finished the tree, I want to put together an oversized vignette using the same elements on a large table next to the tree.

I hung a little champagne garland above the mirror and attached a sweet, rustic Christmas sign to the top. I stacked my favorite vintage suitcases on one side with a small wire tree and a cloche filled with pine cones.
Some beautiful bottlebrush trees and a larger cloche clock and stack of leather books add just the right amount of contrast and color.
On the other side, I repeated the color using a vintage urn filled with copper and white spray and some frosted berries.

Since I couldn’t ignore the coffee table, I filled a dough bowl with pine cones and ornaments and added some wreaths and holly berries to bring the whole look together.
The final look is a warm and inviting Christmas living room in my favorite shades of copper and burgundy.
I’m really excited about how it all comes together and am excited to pull off some of the ornaments and decorations from Christmas’s past.
