Decorating your table for Christmas is very easy! This Christmas decoration also looks great on a round or square table. Let me show you how elegant your coffee can be this holiday season in five easy steps below, or watch my how-to video here:

Start with a beautiful base using a beautiful circle. I love the wooden bowl on Pier 1. I use it year round on my coffee table when I decorate using the right of three.

A bowl gives you a good foundation. However, you can skip this step and place your decoration directly on the table.
I said this is an easy Christmas decor. The next step is to simply add your favorite Christmas wreath. It can be plain, ornate, prelit or sliding, real or fake. I like to use a wreath that already has some ornaments and pinecones on it, but any wreath will work!
As with decorating a Christmas centerpiece or Christmas mantle, adding baubles is a great way to add interest and texture to your wreath. I kept it simple by just adding the glow button options. But you can add more. I get most of my picks from my favorite Christmas stores, but under $5, usually only a dollar or two with their big sale.

Then add some beautiful candlesticks using the rule of three – high, medium and short. I especially like mercury glass.
Finally, every room needs a touch of whimsy in home decor. I also like to add whimsy to my Christmas decor. I chose this cute little bird to perch on our Christmas wreath. It just makes us smile. Every year I get a lot of questions about decorating my farmhouse for Christmas. People want to know how I prepare my decor, why I make such a bad look, and where I find the things I use to celebrate Christmas in the farmhouse.
I know it’s hard to think about Christmas in October. That’s why I usually don’t. Until now, I haven’t published an article about my farmhouse Christmas decorations early. However, I think this year is different (in more ways than one). I think you will agree. So, I’ve thrown all rules about not talking about Christmas in October out the window. God knows, if there is a year to do, this is the one!

As for the question of how I prepare my Christmas decorations every year, it is easy to answer. I don’t do it. Some people like to change things from year to year. Not me. Turns out my farmhouse Christmas decor is usually not in the budget and honestly, I love what I’ve collected over the years. I find so much joy in taking the garbage from the attic every Christmas. Reading carefully written notes brings back many good memories. My Christmas decor collection makes my entire farmhouse Christmas happy every year.
I will admit that there are Christmases where I lose myself and leave my favorites when it comes to decorating for the holidays. I find myself following but not my heart when it comes to decorating for Christmas. The result is a beautiful house decorated for Christmas that is not like us. My best advice for decorating for Christmas (or any time of the year) is: follow your heart. Decorate with what you love and what makes you happy from the inside.
Lately I’ve heard a lot of comments about people wanting to decorate early for Christmas. I think this year many of us want the nostalgia that comes with the holidays earlier than usual. Let’s face it, 2020 is hard! More than a year before, like this year people are ready to celebrate the beauty, magic and warmth that the Christmas season brings. I said, “Do what brings you happiness and joy.”
How To Decorate Your Coffee Table For The Holidays
I am a person who doesn’t like to waste things and likes to live in the moment. However, I confess that this is the first year that I thought I wanted to decorate for Christmas before the previous year. Maybe I feel Christmas nostalgia too. Or, it could be that I’m tired of staying at home most of the year and I’m ready to get down to business early.
However, I have decided that this year I will post the Christmas farm decor post earlier than usual. With more and more people buying things online, I’m afraid that if I wait to share, you won’t be able to find many pieces that I like and use in the farm because things will sell out faster than ever .
I tell you how I plan my Christmas decor… I don’t. The next question I get asked this season is, why am I stuck with a neutral palette for Christmas?
Bright White Christmas Living Room
The simple answer is, “Because it’s easy!” Every year I start the Christmas season with neutral colors of white, cream, wood and green. The beauty of starting with a neutral palette is that some years (when the spirit strikes me) I like to add red, gold or plum. With a neutral base, adding color is easy and you don’t make a huge commitment. I’m afraid to make a big commitment to color because I never know how I’ll feel about it from one year to the next.
I find that every year my Christmas decorations are a little different from the previous year. The reason behind the subtle change every year is not clear to me. However, I’m excited to see where my decorating mind takes me each new season. A neutral palette makes small changes to my farmhouse Christmas decor easier and also makes it more affordable than years past.
“Where did you find your Christmas farmhouse?” As I said before, I don’t buy new pieces every year. Fortunately, some of the products are timeless. Finding timeless decorations is always my goal when shopping at Christmas and every year. Sometimes, however, I keep things for so long that when I need them, they are no longer available.
Modern Christmas Decorating Ideas For 2022
So today I’m going to share some of the same farmhouse Christmas ornaments that I have in our house and if the item is no longer available, I’ve put something similar in it.
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite, the Christmas tree. It is one of the first things you think of when it comes to Christmas decorations and it really keeps a lot of Christmas magic in your home.
I love the look of the Noble Fir Christmas tree. Our main tree in the room is a 9 foot noble fir. It is very tall and majestic and gives the perfect Christmas picture in our house. I used to use a tree skirt under our tree until last year when I fell in love with a farm shirt. The rustic wood collar is the perfect farmhouse touch for our tree.
Best Ways To Decorate A Coffee Table
What would a Christmas tree be without ornaments!? Just a tree. I usually decorate our main tree with white, cream, silver, wood and gold ornaments. I’m doing it with a neutral palette for our big tree because I love how dreamy and beautiful it is. The neutral tree goes perfectly with the windows, wreaths and all the Christmas decorations throughout our house.
A few years ago, I started using wooden beads on my trees. The raw wood beads add the perfect rustic touch and are even better if you don’t have any ornaments. Last year was the first year (and it won’t be the last) that I used ribbon on our tree and I absolutely loved it. Ribbon looks beautiful and also works as a decoration for the bare part of the Christmas tree.
As much as I love our centerpiece tree, last year I started a love affair with the simplicity of the Scandinavian Christmas tree (Balsam Fir). Full disclosure, I now have two balsam firs that I put in the farmhouse because I love the look so much. I treated them minimally and used a lot of light on them. It is magical!
Coffee Table Christmas Decor For Less Than $15
If you have been here and have been following me on Instagram for a long time, you know that my love word is ‘like’. I want to make the farmhouse happy and welcoming all year round, but especially at Christmas time. I love using warm Christmas clothes! These are the same socks we have in the farmhouse. They are big, soft,
