Coffee Table Ideas Decor – I am a sucker for beautiful coffee table decorations! When I took a closer look at the two coffee tables in our home, I realized that there are five decor staples that I always use and I’m going to share all of my coffee table decor ideas with you today!

I always use a large tray on my coffee tables. all the time. I like that they keep everything neatly organized, and if you want to clear the coffee table to use it to play a game or make a batch of dinner, you can take everything out with a simple drawer lift. Trays are also a great way to add texture or a contrasting color to keep things interesting.

For the coffee table in our family room, I went with a large 28 square foot wooden tray that takes up quite a bit of the coffee table but still leaves room for my husband to rest his feet on (we keep a special foot pad for him to do that with – lol !):

I had the hardest time finding an oversized square tray that I liked, but finally found the perfect one on Etsy. The store you bought it from is no longer there, but you can find an almost identical tray nearby. They offer them in different colors in a matte velvet or glossy finish. A tray of this size is expensive but I have had it for years. I like that if I change my color scheme in the future, I can easily repaint it instead of buying a new can.

On the living room ottoman/coffee table I mostly use light woven trays to add some brightness and texture. My favorite is the nice size and great price for a tray this size:

I use flowers and natural elements throughout my home because they add life in a way, so it’s no surprise that it’s one of my favorite coffee table decor ideas! In the summer, when our yard flowers are in bloom, I keep small bouquets of fresh flowers on our coffee table:

If you don’t have flowers to cut from your garden, get a $5 bunch of tulips from the grocery store or for less maintenance, add a plant. The snake plant that used to be on our living room coffee table is the best – absolutely incredible:

And I also like to put the stack of books at the end of the coffee table – it’s another way to bring nature into this room.

There is no shame in making a mistake! I recently bought raspberries and two of them make the cutest little arrangement:

You can also use other natural things to add life – a bowl of pinecones, feathers or items from the sea such as driftwood, shells and coral are just a few ideas. The best thing about natural items is that there are so many outside your door that you can find and use for free!

Books are another one of my favorite coffee table decor ideas. They’re perfect for adding a layered look plus it’s nice to have some interesting coffee table books that your family and guests can pick up and read. As design lovers, most are (big surprise) design centric. Books about the area you live in, your favorite state or country to vacation in, or a favorite hobby are other great options.

Decorative boxes are the best! There are so many beautiful options and they are great for hiding things you don’t want to hide your table. The coffee table in the family room holds extra remotes for the TV, a remote for the lighting, and photo flash drives that I now and then need while navigating the passageway:
