Farmhouse Christmas Decor Ideas To Make Your Space More Festive

Advice. Tip #1: Add a matching basket to your coffee table to distract from the TV, organize decorative accents, and add texture and color to your room. Here I used a rattan basket that echoes the color of the hardwood floor (don’t forget to echo the colors in the room for a “designer” look!). I put two of my regular decorating books in the basket and filled my books with a white bowl filled with moss balls. The moss adds a wonderful green color (I love the shade of blue-green!). I also added a ceramic bowl and a gold octagonal paperweight.

Advice. 2: Flowers, fresh or fake! Adding flowers to your tables is a beautiful way to decorate them, it adds softness and “life” to your room! This vase of tulips is a tease (I usually use fresh tulips, but my grocery store was out of them when I took this photo!). Fake flowers are great to use when they look real, and many of today’s fake flowers are very realistic! I always like to put my vases on a book or two – it makes it look like a table.

Advice. 3: Add two table lamps to the console table to add height to the room to illuminate work and create a separate space in an open concept home. Our family room and dining room are open concept. I created two separate zones and separated the rooms by adding this console table behind our sectional sofa to create a cozy look. Two crystal lamps add illumination here (no overhead lighting) and help separate the sofa and family room from the dining room space.
