Decorating Hall Table For Christmas

Decorating Hall Table For Christmas – Ho ho ho, everyone! It’s December and that means Christmas decorating is in full swing! As many of you know, I did all the decorating last month before my little bambinos arrived. I’m excited because baby Ford arrived on Thanksgiving morning! πŸ™‚ She is the best gift ever!! We have had a lot of fun with the festival grounds and our new additions. If you missed the Christmas farmhouse and tree decorating post, check it out here.

I have holiday decorations and this year, I made my comforter table with more goodies than in the past. It’s the first thing people see when they walk into my house, so I want to celebrate it. I used the old decoration and combined with the new.

First, I start with what I call, “base”, on each shelf – greens and / or cranberries. I found these two false positives on target. They have many types of garland depending on your style. I always recommend language for tables and / or console tables. It helps fill the space and creates a foundation to build on. πŸ˜‰ Then I added two of my favorite Christmas farmhouse decor items, a wooden sign and a fake tree (green & wood). Check out my favorites below! If I don’t link the actual item, it’s because it’s old and/or sold, but I’ll share what you can do.

Then I used some farm items I bought this year: a North Pole mailbox (sold out – similar here), a Santa bath with birch logs, a miniature house figure and a white pickup truck. Finally I added something sweet, with some pillows. Surprise, surprise… lol This article may contain affiliate links, which give me a small percentage of sales, at no cost to you.

I had a book club at my house yesterday. They are just the pants I need to finish my Christmas decorating. To be honest, I don’t do everything. My closet just got a little done, and I need more work on the family room. But I have found a way, so I have one good episode that we can enjoy. I love my entryway table, it’s so fun to decorate!

All the Christmas decorations were made from things I already had, or things I bought really cheap.

I bought an ornament on the lamp at a thrift store for $1, then added a red bow to the shade. I think the green one might look better, but I don’t have one, so I won’t complain. πŸ™‚

A large candle I bought on clearance after Christmas last year. I just wrapped it in scrapbook paper and tied jute in the middle:

Decorating the Christmas table can be difficult at times. Our house has a side table, a chest of drawers, a small wooden table, and a closet, all in the same space. I knew that coming up with individual vignettes would have to be something I felt like doing, especially during the holidays. So, I came up with three steps that I use every time I approach a place like this. I hope they will help you too!

Choose an inspiring piece to fill the space. I chose this beautiful “travel hand” poster from a friend

. They have a wide selection of wood if you want modern furniture like this. Some examples of inspired pieces are glass, artwork, and architectural pieces. You want to have the height and “shape” you want the rest of the table to adopt. Think about their color, shape, and size. I started with a wreath above the sign to give more height and a basket full of pillows underneath.

Find two identical pieces and place them on both sides of the inspired piece. I’m using a winter tree that I’ve had for a while now. You don’t want these pieces to be longer than the motivational section. Think of the inspiration piece as an invisible triangular top on your desk top. Now draw a line like you are making a triangle from the wooden sign to the tree.

Now it’s time to fill it all in! As you can see, I enjoyed adding some pieces, but you can add a small vignette in the middle of the table if you want. Consider adding height and variety when filling the space between two matching pieces. Decorations can include glass (like these scented Christmas candles), wood, metal, and greenery. I used some chippy sheets as candle holders to fill around the center vignette.

The Christmas vignette in the middle has a different height and shape and uses the rules of decorating in odd numbers (ie, 3, 5, etc.). I just put two strips of fake holiday trees on top of the wooden stand. Next, I added a small Merry Christmas symbol to finish off the odd numbered pattern. Easy friends!

Some of my favorite red berries in the Target jar add just the right amount of color. But it’s an interesting kind of punch. πŸ™‚
