Different Ways To Style An End Table
Today I show you a side table that is very simple and easy to decorate. The layout of a table depends on the size of the horizontal surface, the size of the objects to be placed on the table and the end use of the table!
If your table is large and not used to hold someone’s drink, you can add larger items and spread them out a bit.
If your table is going to be used for the occasional drink, there should be plenty of open space so nothing falls out.
Coffee Table Decor Ideas
Not every element I share today can be used on every final table. Choose what works for you and your room!
I have the same two lamps on the end table on either side of my couch. However, my final table takes a different form. Same color and height and I absolutely LOVE not having them match and match!
Today I am sharing a good sized corner table with two shelves. A corner table with shelves is a great decoration that wins! Sometimes they’re just decorated like this one and sometimes they’re not as stylized as they are stuffed and worn!
Coffee Table Decor Ideas For Every Style
Let’s get back to matchy-matchy, I like the same lamp that flanks the sofa. It brings a little symmetry that I love! Both of my end tables are big enough to work with my big urn-shaped lamp weight. The lampshade is just acceptable. The light throat is visible (and that’s ok) but the socket is not showing (thank goodness). I love the little on/off current and wanted to show it off.
I tend to like high lights because I have high ceilings, but smaller ones work here too! It’s a good idea to pay attention to how much table space your lamp will use.
The balance between lamp size and table size is important! Lights are the number one consideration when setting up an end table!
Must Haves For Your Side Table
For me, books don’t just bring a personal touch and color to the final table, they also serve as a complement! Oh, I love stacks of books! If you have the space at your end table, consider adding two or three books to the mix. They don’t really need to take up space if you’re using them as perches for other items on them!
I chose a decor book that has shades of blue to work with the cup holders on the table! BTW…you know how much I LOVE Savannah, aka “The Mothership”! Paula Deen
It’s a low country with the best decor! And this is one of my favorite decorating books of all time! You can view the book HERE.

The table is the perfect place to display art or photos! As you can see, I have a silhouette of Beau the Wonder Dog at the final table! Just a small photo or a small work of art adds warmth and charm to the final table. If the vase I chose for the flowers hadn’t been too big, I could have sustained Beau’s appearance next to the flower in the book!
I get a lot of emails asking why I don’t have a family photo booth at home. The answer is quite simple. I just don’t want them in my pictures on my blog. I think my kids (and now my grandson Anderson and future granddaughter Emma Kate) deserve some privacy.
So instead of deleting it every time I take a picture, I keep it in my room to enjoy. Now that the room is finally ready enough to share, I’m not sure what I’m going to do!

If your side table is leaning against the wall, placing a smaller mirror behind other objects on the table can look amazing! Consider even lining a larger mirror or artwork with a smaller blank frame in front of it.
Not every table in a room needs to have something organic like flowers. But maybe one or two would be nice! Bobby took these snapdragons from our garden today. So of course I use it. And I chose to place it in a handmade jug-like vase that also doubles as a work of art.
Just a few small flowers in a tiny bottle will add life and beauty to a side table. Other organics like stems and twigs or even very convincing fake plants will also soften the table!
Coffee Table Décor Ideas To Personalize Your Space, From The Experts
A pretty bowl with willow or moss balls would work great! Be creative and work with the things you have. I even put flowering weeds in a small vase at the end table. Who knows?
Cup holders and bowls seem like an odd pairing, and they are! I have an interesting set of coasters in my living room and family room and a great place for them to find a home is at the end table!
I also love displaying small bowls or even a stack of different, beautiful bowls on the end table, but I probably won’t have cup holders and bowls on the same table. So it’s one or the other.
Side Table Designs That Do All The Things
It’s best if you display cup holders to have some beautiful coasters to show off. If you have a lot of cup holders, that’s fine, just keep them in the drawer until needed!
A table looks very personal and inviting if there is something special for you on it! Beau’s silhouette serves as both art and personal at this final table.
I could have arranged things a little differently to include the dear lucite monogram box I just received.
