Make an edible centerpiece for the Thanksgiving table using refrigerated bread dough, aluminum foil and an. an egg Fill with both sweet and savory treats for an impressive centerpiece that your guests will love to scoop up while they wait for dinner to begin.
Edible Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Use bread crumbs and aluminum foil as centerpieces for your Thanksgiving or fall table.
Cut a piece of aluminum foil about 18″ by 36″ wide. Fold the sheet in half to make an 18″ x 18″ square. Starting at one corner, you will begin rolling out the foil to create a loose cone shape with an opening that is about 6″ to 8″ wide (picture 1). Fold the pointed cap inward to make a smooth hole in the cone (Figure 2). Make sure that the shape of the foil can support the weight of the yeast by filling it with crushed aluminum balls (Figure 3).
Line a pastry bag with parchment paper. Place the leaf cone in the film, and roll up the ends to more closely resemble a cornucopia. Coat the outside of the foil with cooking spray to prevent the patties from sticking.
How To Decorate A Buffet Table (with Pictures)
The surface is scattered. First open the tin of bread dough and carefully unfold it as well as the yeast cloth (Picture 1). Note: keep the cake tin in the refrigerator until ready for this step; cold dough opens more easily and uniformly inhibits the extension into the dough and tears. Using a rolling pin, divide the dough into 6 evenly spaced strips (Picture 2). Starting from the tip of the cone, which appears, wrap the mass around the cone overlapping each piece (Figure 3). Tip: Stand the cone on its flat end or have someone lift it to make it easier to wrap the dough around the cone. Continuing with the second and third tins of dough, add pieces of dough until the entire cornucopia is covered, leaving a little bit of yeast to decorate (Picture 4).
Place 3 pieces of bread on the side, pinch to seal the ends, then start from the outside. Brush the opening of the cornucopia with an egg wash, then the top of the twisted dough (picture 1), with a little excess where the pan meets the braid. Then you brush the entire cornucopia bread with an egg, which will give the bread a shiny appearance (Picture 2).
Using a cookie cutter or knife, cut out leaf shapes from the dough, then place them under the twisted cornucopia. Brush with egg wash. Place the pan on the middle rack of a preheated 350 degree oven and bake until golden brown (about 35-45 minutes). Remove the hot bread from the oven and carefully transfer the cornucopiae to a wire rack; let cool for 10-15 minutes.

Place the cornucopiae on a large plate, tray or rack. First, remove the crumpled ball of the bun, then carefully remove the ball of outer mince by sliding your hand between the bun and the pin to loosen. Let the cornucopias cool for an additional 10-15 minutes or until they are no longer hot when you put your hand in them. Finally, you will fill it with foods such as cheese and nuts or candies such as fruit and chocolate (Picture 1). Place a full cornucopia in the center of your Thanksgiving table (Picture 2) so guests can help themselves (Picture 3).
