Gorgeous Dining Table Fall Decor Ideas For Every Special Day In Your Life

Check out how I use dried oranges to decorate spaces in my dining room and get more DIY ideas for fall!

The first room you will see when you enter my house is the dining room. It happens next to my office, so I spend a lot of time watching this space.

Fall Table Decorations

This year, I decided to keep things simple. I am using the same woven placemats that I shared in my spring table decorations. They are like the table decoration version of a little black dress.

Ideas For Setting A Neutral Fall Table

I started with minimal decoration on the sideboard until I “lived” with the room for a while. I will share more about what I finished next.

My new obsession is dried orange slices. I like dry flowers so it was only a matter of time before the oranges changed. “Choose me! Choose me! they said.

I combined the orange slices with fake white pumpkins and fake olive stems. (I’ve been known to pull the leaves off a fake branch when I need a quick green. Wish me luck trying to recover them later!) Rosemary sprigs would have worked too.

This is a recent purchase that will last me many seasons. It is 37″ long so I can fit a lot of things inside. Maybe even make a giant loaf of bread one day!

For the centerpiece of the pasta bowl, I reused some olive branch stems that usually live in a vase. I then put in an assortment of pumpkins, acorns and orange slices, of course.

Remember my sparsely decorated closet above? I finally decided to add a few items, like this graduation tray.

I often look for unique plates for my tablescapes and when I found these beautiful pumpkin plates and bowls, I envisioned this festive table with different types of pumpkins.

Fall Table Decorations

The only downside to HomeGoods is that there isn’t always a complete set anywhere. After searching six different stores in two different states, I finally had enough for 10 placemats! Phew! It was a lot of work tracking down these dishes, but it was well worth it. My sweet husband found half of them for me! He is an archer!

Fall Table Decor Ideas Inspired By Our 2017 Fall Color Palette

I made two different tablescapes with these plates, mainly because I forgot to use the pumpkins the first time! On the first try, I used the pumpkin plate, the salad and the bowl. For the center of the table, I used garland and then added more greenery with white and orange fake flowers.

For the second version of the pumpkin table, I placed a large wooden pumpkin in the center as the centerpiece and arranged velvet colored orange, tan and brown pumpkins along the greenery and flowers. I changed the salad plate to a nice orange plate to help tie in more of the orange tones and add some contrast with the roasted squash plates. Also, I added more orange flowers and some different cream colored flowers as well. The second version is my favorite!

Everyone always asks me where I find all my dishes and the truth is, it’s like a treasure hunt! Check out HomeGoods, TJMaxx, Marshalls and Tuesday Morning if you’re looking for a bargain. You can often find nice suits for a decent price if you’re willing to do some shopping and look for them in different places. I also find great items for my tablescapes at Target, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Pier1, Anthropology, West Elm, and Crate and Barrell.

Easy To Make Fall Table Decorations

I find the greenery and flowers at different hobby shops like Hobby Lobby, Kirklands, Michaels, Ben Franklin, Target, Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn. Find local home decor stores and garden centers near you for inspiration and unique finds!

I’ve linked the sources I could find at the bottom of the post for you. I hope you enjoy this fun, festive, pumpkin-themed fall tablescape!

The glasses are from Target-Hearth and Hand Fluted Tumblers. If they are no longer available, I have linked similar items below. The chargers are from Hobby Lobby. I couldn’t find them on their website so I linked another option below as well.

Fabulously Cozy Fall Table Decor Ideas

A great resource for real velvet pumpkins is HotSkwash. Get ready, because they don’t come cheap! There are YouTube videos on how to make them if you are a DIYer. I’ve linked another source below and you can find less expensive options if you don’t mind them having a fake stem. I prefer the real stems though, as they are more beautiful and authentic, but it is an investment and will keep for years if you take care of it properly. Make sure they are filled with rice or beans and not just batter. Batting stuffed pumpkins do not weigh much, so they are not so easy to work with.

If you can’t find the pumpkin plates, find another simple option that is tan or off-white and use other plates like I did in the second version and use different types of pumpkins to create the same look.

I hope you enjoyed this fall fall tablescape! If you’d like to see more pumpkin themed tablescapes, here are a few others I’ve shared over the years! Everyone has pumpkins mixed in somewhere.
