Best Birthday Table Decoration Ideas To Bring Your Party To Life In 2022
I like to have a welcoming area and set the backdrop and tone for the party decorations. For this party, I used a light natural wood A-frame sign, with a simple “Happy First Birthday Maila” written in white on brown paper. To reinforce the muted rainbow theme, I added a woven macrame rainbow in the corner.
Underneath the dessert table, I added some additional themed decorations. I collected a few bamboo storage baskets of different sizes, and added another woven rainbow. Then, in front of her, I put a palm painted in a rather muted tone, and a piece of cardboard stating the age of the birthday girl – ONE.
On the table itself, I made sure to add a variety of natural baskets, bowls, containers and candle holders, and an additional woven rainbow. I also added some pretty flowers in a soft red color to add an organic look to the party. Some bright pink tablecloths added to the whimsical feel of the table.

The centerpiece of the table was a beautiful cake from Sweet Carousel Cakes, topped with a perfect muted rainbow and surrounded by beautiful macarons and dollops of vibrant colors. Gold accents and a pink “1” on the side added a touch of elegance to the boho feel of the cake. I placed it on top of a collapsed rattan basket to give it height and prominence on the table.
As well as the cake, I put more delicious desserts, matching the colors of the party. Front and center, I used wooden trays to display a mix of smaller desserts, almost like a dessert table.
Some of the desserts are too good to pass up, however, and deserve to be highlighted. So I set up a few small stalls to showcase some of the amazing cakes from Westlake Bakes.
Wild One 1st Birthday Party
To add a more meaningful element during the dessert display, I used cute rainbow dessert toppers (you can get them in my shop) and cute “un” lollipops from Luna Lollipops.
I also set up stands of different sizes and heights to display more desserts – donuts and dark chocolate covered pretzels.
For easy-to-grab drinks for the dessert table, we placed small water bottles wrapped in muted rainbow symbols, polka-dotted straws wrapped in muted rainbow straw flags. Both of these come in a quiet rainbow smoke that you can buy in my shop.
How To Create A Dessert Table For Your Child’s Birthday
The final piece to complete this dessert table is a place for your honored guests to enjoy it all! We finished off her high chair with ONE silent rainbow flag, and a coordinating fringe. On the back of the chair, we draped a sweet rainbow onesie from Kiss Hug Design for Maila to wear for the party.
