Formal Christmas Dining Table Decor – In this post: Do you want to set a Christmas table that is classic and elegant, but not too elegant? Beautiful Christmas decorations will do just that
Yes. True story. We never even had a registry. I was thinking about this the other day, and how funny it is that I’m collecting straws. I have quite a few so far, mostly inherited from family members, but I like to mix in some pieces that I put together and more random pieces.

The truth is, I don’t like to set my tables all in Chinese. In fact, there are many other ways to create the perfect table for a special occasion.

So, if you don’t have formal china or just don’t really love the set you have and you’re feeling down, today I’m going to share with you some other ways to create a special Christmas table.
For starters, I love mixing patterns for a sophisticated layered yet relaxed feel. Plaids are always great for the holidays and work great with the classic colors of the season.
I also love using vintage pieces like garden forks to serve red wine. Then, I throw in some ululetide flavor with shiny pine cones and other pieces of the winter landscape.
Simple And Neutral Christmas Home Decor
But the real star of this table comes in the form of beautiful Christmas table decorations. They were supplied by Vagabond House, a company I have worked with many times before, as their work is both amazing, high quality and beautifully done.
Today I’m teaming up with my Styled + Set team to bring you our annual Christmas Fun Blog Hop. You’ll find holiday table decorations and other fun ideas, so check out my friends’ posts below.
Like a pencil to mix porcelain, I tend to mix my collections when choosing pieces to decorate my desk. Although the different collections of Vagabond House have a unique and distinct feel, they blend together because they maintain a similar character due to the design spirit.
Christmas Dining Room Decor Ideas 11 Ways To Impress Your Guests
Above, you can see the beautiful Medici Lunch Platware next to a classic pattern plate, lending it a sleek and elegant air. It can be used all year round, sitting comfortably among the winter masterpieces.
Accenting the setting is a beautiful wine bottle from the Entwined Oak Pewter Stemware collection. This pattern comes in four sizes including white wine, red wine, burgundy and burgundy. I chose a clear glass for a nice crisp look that matches my favorite wine. The soft foliage acts as an attractive cradle for the foam glass.
One of the easiest ways to make a statement at the table is with beautiful earrings. You can place a patterned napkin front and center on a plate glass, wrapped in a beautiful piece like the Pewter Acorn and Oak Leaf Napkin Ring, and it will catch the eye. This is a great place to invest in a special piece that looks great on a featured table.

The highlight of the season is the Living Style Collection with the Stag and Doe Salt & Pepper Set, shown above. This set works well with oak pieces from the Majestic Forest collection or other pieces you may already own.
As for the flowers for the table, I kept it very simple, using vibrant red roses as the focal point and a couple of blue roses in a supporting role on either side. Christmas is synonymous, and it completes the artistic pewter items with a unique style.
The last thing I would like to mention is the well-shaped and beautiful soup bowl. It would make a beautiful centerpiece with twin flowers on either side of the table or place it side by side for serving.
