Fun Table Decorations – I’m not sure where this table came from. One minute I’m using a gift certificate to buy tablecloths for Valentine’s Day, and the next I’m off to the movies. I think this change may have had something to do with coming across these cute boxes of popcorn for $1 each at the Dollar Tree.
For the centerpiece, I used a red and white bowl that I bought from Williams-Sonoma a few years ago. Filled with candy, it makes for fun company. You must have candy when you go to the movies. Popcorn won’t hurt either.

If you are creating such a table setting for a children’s party, it may be worth using more practical glasses. Today I can’t resist red cups.

Ticket strings work well as napkin rings. They are loosely tied around napkins. You can buy a huge roll of tickets for as little as $7 at most party shops. Love them in small portions… I have enough now to last forever! lol
I cut one of the gold and beige “tickets” from one of the invitations and stuck it in the center.
You know the cake stand I use in the middle? It’s the base for the whimsical cake stand in THIS Alice in Wonderland table setting.
Fun & Festive Table Setting Ideas
Those who have a birth card are invited to their group. Next to the golden line under the words “You have been called” you can write the name of the guest.
Bird’s eye view… There is one more thing I wish I had when creating this table view. Imagine 4 large rolls of film, preferably about 13-14 inches in diameter, as chargers under each dinner plate. Not sure how good they are for eating, but they sure would be nice in a table setting like this. They are on eBay, even red ones are available! Red would be perfect, but traditional metallics and grays would also look great.
Did you notice the back of the invitations where the cards are red and white too? Good luck with your search…they go well with this theme.
Non Floral Wedding Centerpiece Ideas
Tip: I’ll let you in… when you create a centerpiece like this, simply place a tea towel or paper in the bottom of the container to fill some of the space. That way you don’t have to buy more candy than you really need to fill the container. I have a red kitchen towel tucked in.
The only cost to make this table setting is $7 for tickets (any from a large roll is used), $4 for popcorn boxes at $1 each, and $4 for 8 party invitations to use as business cards . I have everything else.
Since it’s a children’s table setting for our Movie Night table, tonight’s highlight will be Jumangi with Robin Williams. Clapperboard, also known as slate, is a picture frame I’ve been using for about 20 years.
