Hanukkah Table Decorations Ideas – Hanukkah is known as the Festival of Lights. Now is the perfect time to set up a beautiful table in soft blue tones with various sources of pretty candle light. A joyful holiday with music, gifts and special foods, it is a pleasure to set a table for this celebration. Come with me for a tour of the MyHanukkah table.
In the center of this table are mercury glass plates with a variety of Hanukkah motifs. They help anchor the silver and blue palette and look great on a plate stack against cobalt salad plates and white dinnerware.
Hanukkah Table Decorations Ideas
Candlelight is the most significant part of this Hanukkah table and can be seen in a variety of places, from glowing dusty pillars to tiny tea lights.
Diy Ideas To Decorate Your Home For Hanukkah
Fresh white flowers complete the look and are served in a spun silver vase.
Potato latkes are one of the most traditional dishes for the celebration of Hanukkah, as the oil made from them represents the oil from the temple’s menorah. They are usually served with applesauce, and these little dessert cups are perfect for that condiment. A beaded votive adds a sparkle to the scene.
I’ve featured this menorah in some of my other posts because it’s one of my favorites I bought on a trip to Israel. A lot of people light a lot of menorahs, and I have a few, but this silver one works great on this party table.
Deck The Halls With These 22 Christmas Decorating Ideas
Adding blue ornaments to the store shelves helped give my Hanukkah table a really festive look. They add a nice holiday glow note. Dreidels are really salt and pepper shakers, but they are another symbol of these holiday traditions.
I love using layered napkins because they add a rich look to a table. I like richer fabrics. The blue linen has delicate frayed edges and beautiful tonal embroidery on the white base. Napkin rings are often my favorite place to add a little DIY, in this case I used jewelry thread to hold large aquamarine beads.
A metallic silver jacquard placemat is the foundation upon which everything is built. The square shape gives a lot of space to show the beauty of the wooden table. The tercury glass scarf is filled with the brightest jewels, and the silver cutlery is a family heirloom.
Host Hanukkah Dinner
The menorah is raised to prominence in a simple white cake stand with small dreidels scattered across the base. In fact, you won’t see a menorah with all the candles lit, except on the last night of Hanukkah.
Blue Crackle wine glasses do a wonderful job of bringing out all the blues on the table. Glen Plaid crystal water glasses help capture reflected light.
Hanukkah is a celebratory holiday and the perfect time for a family meal with lively conversation combined by candlelight!

This year, I decided to stick with the traditional Hanukkah blue and silver color combo, as I already have glasses of blue water that my Consuegro (Syrian word for mother-in-law) gave me as a gift for Rosh Hashanah. Have blue and silver Greek style dishes (a perfect Maccabi theme!). I decided to add some holiday trinkets to my Chanukah table and check out local Ikea and West Elm stores to see what I could buy without making a dent in my wallet.

Ways To Decorate Your Hanukkah Table
The show is called “How to Holiday” and the first four episodes will premiere on HGTV.com next week! I’ll share more about hosting and filming in the coming days (it was a really fun and socially distanced situation).
But now back to the table. While I won’t be showing every part of this beauty here (like I said, I’ll be sharing my top tips on HGTV.com soon!), I’ll give you a quick preview and show you all the purchasable tableware.
After all, one of the biggest trends of 2020… so I thought it would be fun to bring it to my Hanukkah table. I used the $7 tie-dye kit linked above (so easy to use even for a tie-dye newbie like me) and a $15 linen runner (link above!). More about this process here. The napkins, however, were purchased from a wonderful little company store (again, see above).
Interfaith Families Can Create “holiday Fusion” With Hanukkah And Christmas Decor
I can’t get over how essential these gold chargers are! I picked them up at Michael’s and was shocked (shocked!) at the price: about $6 for a set of six. They are shiny and resemble chocolate gelt foil wrappers. Magic I added my everyday white plates and my World Market cutlery and it all fell into place beautifully. For the napkins, I rolled each one loosely from the long end to the pointed end, then tied each one in a large asymmetrical knot and placed it at one end of each plate. As you know, since I’m talking about it, ah, by the hour, I love anything nice and uneven.
You can get the full tutorial for beautiful stamped place cards here. What I will say is that investing in a miniature stamping kit really came in handy for me. I love how playful and whimsical they got. Cute. Next up: books! It was a last minute idea because I felt something was missing.
Was missing So I took some blue spinning books I already had at home (and some beige spinning books!) and gathered them at the bottom of the centerpiece. Easy, free and much more on the topic.
Festive Hanukkah Party Ideas
Oh, and those blue candles. I’m in love. I feel like I get a million questions a day about candles and candlesticks around here, so again for the folks behind this, here’s where I get them:
Finally, I added a few simple crystal bowls filled with candy in complementary colors and a small gold plate filled with gel.
Here is the complete DIY flower centerpiece. It’s easy, cheap and very pretty. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.

Don’t forget to leave a like/comment if you like the videos—it’s always helpful (and cool)! Hanukkah is almost here, so I wanted to share this special post with you. I’m showcasing all of these fabulous Homesense Canada decor finds that I used to create this beautiful table top. I am very excited to host this holiday for my family and want to incorporate lots of Hanukkah-inspired colors to accompany the Festival of Lights.
For most it’s still all about the lights, for me it’s all. Bring eight days of latkes and dreidels and everything that goes with them, celebrating the traditions instilled in me from a young age.
