When working with the fall tablescape, Sonia Hopkins, owner and lead event designer of XOXO Bride Events, relied on a variety of materials to create texture in the layers of the table display. “Crystal glassware, gold-rimmed chargers and gold flatware combine to add softness while patterned dinner plates bring texture and enhance the overall look,” says Hopkins.
Another way to change texture is through furniture. The use of chairs in different colors, styles and shapes creates an attractive top table that goes beyond your setting. For this outdoor event, Heather Balliet, owner of Amorology, created a unique arrangement using the concept where she combined chairs made of different materials such as wood and metal. He played with color by adding black, yellow and white chairs as well as adding black accents to the table tops.
