How To Decorate A Christmas Dining Room Table
Happy celebrations! I love this time of year when friends and family gather to celebrate the season and it’s usually about food! I set a lot of Christmas tables around this time of year and I’m always challenged when it comes to creating a centerpiece for a long table.
Christmas Table Ideas & Inspiration
Luckily, I found a simple solution that only takes a few minutes and works with any color scheme or place setting!
This beautiful, crisp pine centerpiece works perfectly for a long table because it can be made as tall as needed, but is low and doesn’t block the view of guests.
To create this look, I started with a plain white tablecloth and then layered a bed of fresh pine boughs down the middle of the table. I cut off any pieces that were too wide and made sure the ends were butted.
Christmas Decor Ideas: Gorgeous Centerpiece Ideas For Your Table
For this table, I wanted to continue the plaid tartan theme from my family room Christmas decorations, so I tucked 12-inch strips of pine boughs down the length of the centerpiece. This is the same technique I use to put ribbon on my Christmas tree. You can see these details by clicking HERE.
After I put the ribbon in place, I added copper colored greenery and then sprinkled mature pine cones and glitter ornaments on the pine necklace.
The final touch was the addition of six copper candlesticks with white taper candles. And that was it! It’s so easy to make this long table centerpiece in just minutes!

When I finished the centerpiece, I still wanted to add a little more tartan accent, so I put a piece of ribbon on each side of the table and let it drape over the edge. A simple V-neckline finished the end of the band.
This easy ribbon accent was the perfect complement to the table and created a beautiful base for the place settings.
I used shiny copper chargers as the base for the placement with light blue and white embossing tiles on top. I added a navy blue napkin square to the salad plate and placed a piece of coppery greenery, tied with a wire wreath at each placement.

I really like this color combination and think it would be great for Christmas or any holiday.

Simple Christmas Table Decor Ideas For Easy Chic Dining
First of all, one of the easiest tips to create an elegant environment is to use metallic colors in your Christmas decorations.
The use of metallic colors immediately creates an enhanced and elegant look as metals look expensive, premium and quality.
By doing this, the strategic placement of lighting and metallic objects will create a nice calm glow that is slightly reflective.

This Christmas dining table set took less than 15 minutes to make because it uses larger items like a wreath and bushes. Using such items is easier to decorate than using many individual stems. The larger pieces guide you into position as they stretch the length of the table.

When using a long crown as a base layer, I like to spread each stem from the central crown as far as possible so that it covers more ground. Then I apply other elements near the center to cover any gaps.
