How To Decorate A Coffee Table And End Tables

How To Decorate A Coffee Table And End Tables – I am obsessed with beautiful coffee table decor! When I took a closer look at the two coffee tables in our home, I realized that there are five decorative elements that I use all the time, and today I will share each of these coffee table decoration ideas with you!

I always use a large tray on my coffee tables. Always. I love how they attach everything neatly, and if you want to clear your coffee table for gaming or food delivery, you can get everything with a simple lift of the tray. Trays are a great way to add some contrasting texture or color to create interesting subjects.

For our family room coffee table, I went with a large 28-inch square wooden tray that takes up most of the coffee table but still gives my husband room to kick his feet up (we put a designated “foot pad” in the middle). To make him do that – lol!):

I had a hard time finding a large, square tray with handles that I liked, but I finally found the perfect one on Etsy. The store I bought it from is no longer there, but you can find almost the same tray. They offer a variety of colors in a velvety matte or glossy sheen. This large tray is expensive, but mine will last me years. I like that if I change my color scheme in the future, I can repaint instead of buying a new tray.

On the ottoman/coffee table in our living room, I often use lightly woven trays to add some shine and texture. My favorite, great size and great price for such a large tray:

FYI, be sure to add felt pads to the bottom of the woven trays so they don’t scratch your coffee table! These are some favorite coffee table trays that work beautifully (

I use flowers and natural elements in my home because they add life like nothing else can, so it’s no wonder this is one of my favorite coffee table decor ideas! In the summer when tons of flowers bloom in our garden, I put small bouquets of fresh flowers on our coffee table:

If you don’t have flowers to pluck from your garden, buy a $5 bunch of tulips from the grocery store or add a plant for low maintenance. This snake plant on our living room coffee table is the best – it seriously can’t be killed:

And I love the stack of books at the end of our coffee table – it’s another way to bring nature into this space.

Also, there’s no shame in being fake! I recently bought raspberries and two of them make a nice little arrangement:

You can also use other natural elements to add life – a bowl of pinecones, feathers or marine elements like driftwood, seashells and coral are just a few ideas. The best thing about natural materials is that there are so many things you can find right outside your door and use for free!

Books are one of my favorite coffee table decor ideas. They’re perfect for adding a layered look, plus it’s nice to have interesting coffee table books that your family and guests can pick up and read. Being the design lover that I am, most of mine are (big surprise) design oriented. Other good choices are books about the area you live in, your favorite state or country to vacation in, or your favorite hobbies.
