Every month, my friend Cindy from District 407 issues a “Mission Impossible” challenge to recreate a Pinterest pin.
Easy Neutral Christmas Decor Ideas For A Cozy Christmas
We bloggers then set ourselves the task of taking a look, inspired by originality. Aren’t you curious to see the inspiration pin anymore?
If you’ve been following my dear friend Paula over at Virginia Sweet Pea, you’ve already seen a cute version of this challenge. Isn’t her vintage coke crate coffee table decor just adorable?
Our muse this month was Jennifer at The Grace House Interiors. Jennifer shared a beautiful Christmas home tour featuring rustic farmhouse touches, including this vintage chest vignette.
Christmas Table Decorating Ideas For Holiday Cheer
I love the “Chip & Joe” Magnolia Crate with its worn texture. The carved Christmas tree and mixed berries are perfect in their simplicity.
With Jennifer’s staples in mind, I created a similar centerpiece using items I already owned (or made myself). I then added a few more home decor accents to complete the look of the coffee table.
For my coffee table, I decided to make a trio of things, a little more than usual. (I guess I’m feeling a little “too much” with the Christmas spirit this year.)
Christmas Tray Ideas For Your Home!
My overall theme for the coffee table was a rustic/wildland vibe, so I incorporated a lot of natural elements into my display. Let’s tackle each of them with the decorating idea I had in mind.
Last month I shared a tutorial on how to build tiny wooden houses. If you have a collection of items or a special accent that you need to highlight, a glass clutch often fits the bill.
What I love about Cloche Domes is that they invite visitors to come and take a closer look. It’s a scene within a scene.

In the spirit of this month’s challenge, I wanted to add a crate decorated for Christmas to my vignette. In a previous post, I talked about how I style my tray table decor by grouping complementary items.
This wooden box was a gift from my late mother-in-law to my husband. I love the grooves and texture of this box and the simple lock on the front.
Tip: Partially fill a box or crate with wrapping paper, newspaper, or raffia to add height and stability.
Rustic Christmas Coffee Table
After filling the box about halfway, I lined up some real cedar sheets next to my trees.
Tip: Add a touch of greenery to spice up your coffee table decor and mix real and fake stems.
This year I cut a new hardwood tree on a band saw designed by my husband. The rest are store bought. Can you guess which one I made in the picture above?

To finish off the centerpiece, I added some fake pine trunks, frozen berries and pine cones. So fast and easy!
You’ll notice, to draw attention to the display, I made sure the trees were taller than the other accents on the coffee table. I also repeated the same berry stems on my Christmas tree in the background.
I often find that adding a small decorative sculpture to a coffee table makes a room feel cozier and more inviting. My reindeer sculpture added the perfect finishing touch to my woodland scene.
Coffee Table Decor Ideas And How To Style Them
Red ornaments and books also bring some sparkle to the scene. A coffee table always looks perfect with some literature to enjoy.
Underneath the entire coffee table display was a repurposed Christmas aisle. This helped break up the texture of the wood and complement the neutral sofas, bringing the whole piece into harmony with the room.
Don’t forget there’s more to Christmas on this tour! Your next stop is Rachel at The Ponds Farmhouse. She is an expert at decorating crates beautifully!

Decorating your coffee table for Christmas is so easy! This Christmas decoration also looks great on a round or square dining table. Let me show you how beautiful your coffee can be this holiday in just five easy steps, or watch my video here:
Start with a pretty base using a coffee round tray. I love this wooden tray above from Pier 1. I use it on my coffee table throughout the year when I decorate using the magic rule of three.
The tray provides an excellent base for your centerpiece. However, you can skip this step and place your decorations directly on the table.
Affordable Christmas Decorations
I said it was an easy Christmas decoration. The next step is to simply add your favorite Christmas wreath. It can be plain, decorative, pre-lit or mixed, real or fake. I like to use a wreath that already has some ornaments and pine cones on it, but any wreath will work!
As with decorating a Christmas centerpiece or Christmas mantelpiece, adding branches is a great way to add interest and texture to your wreath. I kept it simple by just adding these glitter balls. But you can add more. I pick most of mine from my favorite Christmas decor store, but under $5, most just a dollar or two with their big discounts.
Then add some beautiful candles using the rule of three – high, medium and low. I especially like mercury glass.

Finally, every room needs whimsy in home decor. I also like to add whimsy to my Christmas decorations. I chose this cute little bird to sit on our wreath this Christmas. She just makes us laugh. If you haven’t had a chance to stay at our Waco AirBnB, this post will be like a tour of the house during my favorite time of year!
I love decorating my Waco Airbnb for the holidays. There’s something truly magical about the open floor plan and vintage character at Christmastime. I especially love the comments from guests that the house is full of Christmas decorating ideas and feels like home.
I decided to add decorations to the front of the house and to the living room, dining room and kitchen. My holiday decorating theme for our house in Waco was red and white with a “Frosty” motif. And the most important element of decoration has to be the wreaths that I added to every window in my house!
Christmas Coffee Table Decor So Easy To Make And Looks Gorgeous
I was lucky enough to have some of my blogger friends with me to help me decorate. Sarah of Dreaming of Homemaking , Carissa of Bless this Nest , Amy of Cuter Tudor , Leanna of Life By Leanna , and Megan of TxSizedHome all contributed. Be sure to check out their accounts, they are all so talented!
I love the living room! At our house in California, I have wreaths hanging from all the windows, so I wanted to do the same at the Waco AirBnB. Wreaths are a quick and easy way to add Christmas to any room. Another idea that adds instant Christmas cheer is a red pillow cover. I just put a new seasonal cover on the current one and it’s Christmas! How cute is a red and white pom pom wreath? So, so cute!

Christmas Coffee Table Decor Ideas And Diy Tips
We decorated the tree with ornaments and thick red satin ribbon. The tree sits in an old wooden box I found at a Round Top antiques show. I also added a small table tree to the side table.
The centerpiece on the table consists of artificial pine branches and picked berries. I used a tall pot.
