Of course, you already know, and over the years you’ve probably seen countless Easter tables that have exactly the same feel. Actually, I have done a lot myself. Pastels can be so beautiful this time of year. But they are not the only way.

Instead, for this table, I decided I wanted to celebrate springtime. Small pieces of nature are welcome at any time of the year, but they resonate especially well in spring, when nature is reawakening.

So for today’s painting, which is part of a blog hop with some friends, I went a slightly different route.
If you’re new to the blog, you might not know, but my paintings are conceptual in nature, with a relaxed mix of casual and formal, as well as a touch of rebel (look at the veins space… ;- )).
I’ve been doing a lot of pink so far this spring, but for Easter I really wanted to do a table around robin’s egg blue. With green and blue these days, it seems like the perfect time to play with this classic seasonal pairing.
Tips For Setting The Perfect Easter Table
There is always a vision that drives the design of my paintings and this is usually a pattern on the top plate.
This table is no exception with these beautiful bird plates playing the role. I’ve used them before and it’s often a challenge to keep patterned plates looking fresh and new, but I’ve never used them with the other items on this table.
A textured cream dinner plate helps attract the bird, while a wooden charger provides a rustic base to the entire presentation.

From the plate stand I moved on to flower arrangements, which are always a staple on the table I make (and probably my favorite).
I went with simple blue and green hydrangeas, served in these beautiful chinoiserie vases. When I choose my color palette, I like to incorporate different shades of color to add a note of complexity to the tabletop.
The napkin set features an indigo linen fabric with a pale blue trim, gathered inside a silver frog ring, another seasonal twist.
Dining Delight: Easter Buffet Decor
The table centerpiece features a DIY still life, using craft Easter eggs, moss plants and nesting boxes of various sizes. The little wooden birds are again on the edgier side, keeping the tone from being kitschy or cute.
Just for a bit of detail, I added antique brass and crystal candle holders, less expensive than I usually do, but still perfect for the holidays.
My pan is the same vintage set I use in all my settings because it works so well. I’m on the lookout for some new options, but this beautiful set is very versatile.
