Low Budget Christmas Table Decorations – Do you remember the parties? or at least invite the family to dinner? It seems like a really long time has passed since then. I honestly miss some great table conversations. No, no, but it’s usually a quick dinner to start our evening routine with the kids.
I decided that instead of waiting for Christmas, we would invite my parents to dinner a few weeks earlier. So I can show you how to find and style Christmas table decorations on a limited budget.
Low Budget Christmas Table Decorations
I like to challenge myself and my skills to stay within budget and style the space to look purposeful. In today’s lesson, we’re going to look at six ways to make your festive table decorations look on purpose on a budget.
Dining Table Centerpiece Ideas To Set Your Table From The Rest
I honestly believe that you shouldn’t spend a ton of money on home decor, especially when it comes to table decorations. But there are a few things I will invest in, such as dishes and wine glasses that I will use for special occasions. These are decoration ideas that will transform your budget table setting from cheap to purposeful.
When decorating almost every room in our house, I like to start with a photo for inspiration. Our Christmas decor was no different. I found a few tables that I liked, and from there I wrote down everything that the tables had in common.
Then I will shop at home! If you are like me, you probably have so many things that you forgot you did.
Living Room Decor Ideas For A Refresh That Won’t Blow Your Budget
I checked Amazon and Walmart as they are usually the cheapest and fastest to order. When there are sales, I often spend a few minutes looking for them.
But before I order or go shopping, I go to the thrift store. This is my hidden gem where I find most of my heavily discounted antiques and décor items. Trust me, once you know what to look for, you’ll be able to find amazing stuff on a budget.
I love giving myself a budget, especially since it’s my job and I wouldn’t be able to afford it if I didn’t. But whether I did it at work or not, I always think about buying items that I can use for years to come.
Cute Diy Decor Ideas For Christmas Parties
For example, I cut some branches from some pines outside and put them in a wreath that I took from Michaels. This is a great example of how you can spend a little more time transforming something you already have into something special.
When it comes to transforming your DIY festive table into something special, a combination of high-quality and low-quality Christmas decor is worth considering. Things like frugal candle holders, glass jars, or a glass vase can be mixed with more expensive plate sets, such as the ones I liked below.
I also thought I would make it very easy and provide links to everything I used for our own budget holiday decor. In case you don’t want to spend time searching thrift stores or making your own wreath. You can easily find it all below! Let’s face it: Christmas is expensive enough. So when it comes to decorating, I’m ALL about coming up with inexpensive ideas for your festive table.
Holiday Party Decor: Red, White & Wreaths
Last week, I organized a festive table styling event for my friends at Metricon with this concept in mind. The best part? This proved my theory that it is possible to create an amazing Christmas table without breaking the bank. And if you haven’t attended, this post will give you all the pearls of wisdom you missed that day.
Key dish here? You can copy these inexpensive table setting ideas in your own home, all while keeping your budget intact. And below I will show you how.
The only tough decision you’ll face right now is which of these three styles to bring into your home!
Easy Christmas Decor On A Budget!
This affordable Christmas table setting idea was inspired by my Scandinavian Metricon theme. It’s a classic take on the festive table. The best part is that it doesn’t cost much. The Metricon design team sourced multiple finishes from stores such as Kmart, Spotlight and Lincraft.
The general idea behind all of these styles is your essentials, such as the dining table and chairs, that you have already invested in. So Christmas shopping should be cheap as chips. If you want to change the color scheme next year, you haven’t spent a lot of money on decor.
I definitely recommend doing this one of your own, but be sure to keep the color in the classic red and white juxtaposition. White is the predominant color and red is a bad accent.

Also try to keep the red in the same tone. It’s very easy to go into the store and start buying red, then orange, then red roses. Before you know it, the look has gone crazy and is reminiscent of the classic Scandi palette. You have to be disciplined 😉
If you love nature, neutrality and rustic interior design, this inexpensive table setting has your name. What I love about this look is that it avoids all the typical Christmas cliche. The color palette is serene, the look is textured, and it’s wonderfully Australian, don’t you think?
This pattern is inspired by Metricon’s Nordic Elk LookBook theme. The theme itself is clean, crisp and full of light, but still maintains a sense of comfort and craftsmanship. This is how I would explain the chart above, so it’s good to know that your home design can affect your Christmas decoration every year.
How To Overcome Interior Inferiority At Christmas
This is another inexpensive idea for setting a festive table on which you can completely put your own stamp. You just need to be careful not to enter a bright color. It’s about rusticity, neutrality against a neutral and earthy background. Muddy olive greens would be the only shades you could work with here.
Finally we come to the most sophisticated look of the party. Out of three inexpensive table setting ideas, this one has the greatest sense of wealth. However, it is accessible and easy to configure; inspired by Metricon’s High Street LookBook. Don’t think your home has to be high-end for this to work as it will suit any home with a black and white vibe.
If you are a fan of this style of decoration, you will likely love the New York hotel atmosphere that I have described in this post. A video is included so that you can explore the house and choose luxurious, state-of-the-art ideas for your own apartment.

You will notice that although this festive table is tall, it is also a bit earthy. We are not exaggerating to make him feel rich. It still has a light, casual Australian vibe.
That’s why rosemary is included and business cards are made of brown cardboard. The look is luxurious for less, so don’t feel pressured to go full blast with the flare.
If you’ve been looking at these inexpensive Christmas table setting ideas and wanted to delve into more themes and concepts, I have three more looks for you.
