Masquerade Table Decor

Masquerade Table Decor – Dressing up for a masquerade ball is always fun. There’s something liberating about breaking away from the routine of a night out and completely throwing yourself into playing a different character. You can even take the idea further and turn your team into a murder mystery team, the possibilities are endless. Continue reading below for more masquerade party ideas.

Decorations are a very important part of any party, but especially they set the tone for a masquerade ball. I like to go with classic color combinations like black and gold, but even black and red will do. Don’t be afraid to go all out, you can never have enough balloons or streamers. It is important to go with a more subdued light. Stay away from ceiling lights (because they can reveal the true identity of your guests!) and stick to bright lights that will light up your night. Set the mood with songs and other highlights filled with beads and feathers.

Well, a face ball isn’t complete if you don’t come dressed in your best clothes! If you are going to a black tie event, you can go in a ball gown or a tuxedo very similar to the Phantom of the Opera. If it’s more casual, you can’t go wrong with a wrap dress or black jeans and a black tank top. After all, your mask will do all the talking. Find cheap face masks here.

When planning the menu for your masquerade party, it is better to stick to the fingers and small appetizers, but serving things like pizza can spoil the mood. Instead, stick to something extra like crab cakes, chicken kabobs, you can add a chocolate fountain for your guests to enjoy as dessert.

Every good party needs fun games! As I mentioned before, the masquerade ball is the perfect place to put together a little murder mystery game. This guide can help you put yours together. In addition, you can combine a scavenger hunt or a “shameful secret game”. At the beginning of the party, assign each of your guests a “bad secret,” and the goal is to keep your secret hidden while you try to figure out what everyone else is. Pretty cool, huh? Take a mask and wear it properly so that no one can find out who you are. Set a table with masks that greet guests as they arrive. Mix and match different styles of face masks from Venetian to gold and add a fun sign asking them to wear the mask.

Adding face masks, votive candles and these DIY gold foil and glitter bottles add a touch of glamor to the bar cart!

Have a themed dessert bar like these colorful mask cookies, cheesecake, candy apples, and fake cake. Add glam with gold table bells, gold foil curtains and a cardboard masquerade stand with a custom printed back.

For the tablescape, add white linen, gold sequins for the tables, face masks, gold lamps and candles, gold foil plates for the festival, gold plastic cutlery and gold chargers. I simply blew up colorful balloons and hung them upside down at different heights to achieve the look of a balloon arch.

But that’s exactly what I did – nothing more, nothing less. Although I’ve been planning to bring autumn into our home every day for weeks, I haven’t been able to do it yet. But I did manage to put together some fun Halloween ideas. I’m not crazy about Halloween, but I love any excuse to throw a themed dinner. Remember my gothic table from last year (HERE)? This year I thought about what I already had – peacock feathers immediately came to mind – and set out to create a Halloween dinner.

Purple And Pink Masquerade Party

No worries, everyone – don’t go into “50 Shades of Grey” territory, haha! It wasn’t clear to me until I edited this picture why I felt ashamed. And then, of course, I had to turn it on ๐Ÿ˜‰

I get asked all the time “where do you keep all your stuff”? The truth is, yes, I have many things; yes, I’m lucky to have a lower storage space; but, I don’t have as much as it seems, even with all the fun and tablescapes I create. I always try to give back what I already have in different ways. Believe it or not, the only things I bought to put this table together were a mask, a skull and a few stray peacock feathers.

Okay, so when I came up with this year’s idea I was thinking about something I already have – peacock feather rugs.

Easy New Year’s Eve Centerpiece Ideas

Easy. Then I found affordable masks ($8 each) HERE. Each one is a little different and even if you don’t have dinner planned, they are a great service. OR, if you plan ahead for New Year’s Eve, they will be a treat!

The whole idea of โ€‹โ€‹the table was born from those two things – a black rice mask and a peacock feather. Should I have bought all new items – black plates, lace tablecloth, glasses, etc.? Of course! But what’s so great about that? It’s a lot of fun (and smart) to pick one point of inspiration and see how your table and party evolve from there. Home shopping is my favorite pastime ๐Ÿ˜‰

As usual, my flowery areas are always dominated by Costco/Trader Joe’s deals. I mixed pink and plum with hydrangeas from the yard. They are in the middle of the season so they start getting purple spots. I finished the arrangement, just tying everything in a whimsical way, with peacock feathers from Michaels. However, HERE they have more options and it’s cheaper.

While browsing at HomeGoods for dog beds (is it someone’s favorite choice?), I happened upon the Halloween aisle. I didn’t intend to buy anything… but I saw them. Skull with face masks.

In true Kelley Nan fashion, I apparently bought five of them. Again in typical Kelley Nan style, I only used two ๐Ÿ˜‰

I kept the bar setup very simple – I added a few details from the table to tie them together.

For any dinner party, and especially a fancy dress Halloween dinner party, it’s fun to have a few things up your sleeve ๐Ÿ˜‰

During cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, it’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to talk, and especially if the guests don’t come, a chance to play.
