Maypole Table Decorations – We are excited about our latest accessories, especially these wonderfully whimsical Maypole holders. Our beaded chandeliers are suspended from a mesh pole and candle holder covered in beads, jewels and sequins. We love adding more jewels and beads that catch the candle and sparkle, casting a beautiful festive light on any holiday table. Paired with our custom maypole holders, they work great as centerpieces and can be decorated with ribbons, flowers and greenery.
The strings in which the jeweled ring is suspended can be hidden behind beautiful ribbons, left undecorated, it gives the pearl rings quite a magical look to be suspended in the air. I found pale pink ribbon to match these gorgeous fresh roses and wrap the pole and cover the threads of the beautiful ribbon to create a softer look that compliments the bride’s bouquet.

Brightly colored flowers can be used at the base of the stand to match the rainbow of colors on top, and with the addition of multi-colored votive candles we have created a wonderfully bright display as a center. I used a mirror as the base for this table centerpiece.
Easy Decorating Ideas For Beltane
Colorful and whimsical, the circular candles can hold 4 long burning candles – I used white candles, but you can use multi-colored candles to match all the beads, sequins and jewels.
Or you can hang the pearl ring that keeps the lights from above. I used a branch and hung several chandeliers from the branch at different heights to lower the ceiling and draw the eye into the ceremony space.
Scotland Shop is the brainchild of Anna White and is based in Duns in the Scottish Borders. We had the chance to work with Anna recently on a series of inspirational photos of special wedding venues in the Scottish Borders, with the aim of promoting the use of tartan for weddings – and tartan with a contemporary twist.
Village Scene With Dance Around The May Pole
Annan and the Scotland Shop team have invested heavily in cutting edge technology to become a world leader in ‘e-tailoring’. The software allows online shoppers to view clothing selected from one of over a thousand different tweeds and tartans, something that until now only fashion designers had the tools to do. Here at Get Knotted HQ, we’re just starting to catch our breath after a summer full of Scottish weddings here in the Scottish Borders and beyond. Our object rental department went like once, and this season it was all about glass jars. Apothecary jars for some, darling jars for others – for us the perfect accessories to create beautiful floral arrangements.
From the point of view of a stylist, the beauty of this type of accessory is the versatility of these jars. They come in all shapes and sizes and you can use them with or without covers to create a wonderful display with different heights and contrasting angles to bring out flowers and vegetation to their best potential. The beauty of glass is the way it reflects light, so apothecary jars as an accessory come into their own when you add candles.
Easter Tea Party The Preppy Way
A simple light placed in a simple holder can bring an arrangement of jars to life, providing very simple lighting. And glassware should not be limited to the table setting; We love using our hanging glass bubbles to drop down a ceiling with tea lights shining inside them to create a magical feeling.
Two of our very favorite Scottish weddings this summer specialize in apothecary jars as accessories to create the style and feel the bride and groom wanted for their reception. In Aikwood Tower near Selkirk we were able to use a combination of vegetation and glass to create this natural rustic look that perfectly complements the Cart Shed environment and creates a beautiful romantic feeling in the room.
At a signature wedding at the Roxburghe Hotel near Kelso, we used over 100 glass jars to display seasonal floral arrangements. Using glass jars of various shapes, moss, candles and an array of inspired hedge flowers, fruit and berries, as well as succulents and velvet roses, the tables looked absolutely stunning. The roses nestled in the lids of some of the apothecary jars looked simply sublime.

Our styling video shows the preparations, construction and final results in two different locations with very different themes. An elegant country house with a small barn by the river. The team worked together with the talented young director, Gabriel Greenough. The fantastic photos were also taken by Alex Aikman Smith of AikmanSmithPhotography.

The Vintage Spring 2012 Wedding Fair is the place to go if you want inspiration for your wedding this year. Get Knotted are delighted to announce that we will be hitting the road this spring at exciting events in Harrogate, Chester, Leamington Spa and London with our new range of vintage wedding bouquets.
Organic Cotton Wash Cloth Set
The events are the brainchild of vintage expert Keeley Harris who set up Discover Vintage to promote fairs across the North of England in 2009, selling everything from quality clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery, homewares and furniture. Keeley also has a beautiful emporium in York.
After the success of her first time, Keeley decided to launch a specialist wedding fair for brides who like to look to find everything for their special day including: more than 400 wedding dresses; old lace; 30s and 40s linen; classic suit; jewelry; hair and makeup tips; car; specialized entertainment; cookies; floral displays and decorations. We hope to meet some of these wonderful creators.
The new brooches should make a fitting addition to your vintage inspired or influenced wedding day – this is their first outing at a fair, so it will be fun to see what people think. Here is a preview of some of the new designs we have recently created.
How To Host A Midsummer Party
There will be many colors as well as the traditional favorite of ivory, and they are all filled with beautiful pieces of jewelry, beads, buttons, feathers, lace and more.
No two bouquets are alike and each one takes many hours to create. You will definitely stand out from the crowd. Even better, you can keep them forever to pass down to the next generation!
The fairs are open from 11am to 4pm and the first is in Harrogate on Sunday 19th February at The George Hotel. We will also be in:

January is a great time to recharge and plan your next adventure, but it’s also a chance to look back and remember the previous year. So before the moment passes, here are some great memories from 2011 and some of the beautiful Borders wedding couples. I feel very fortunate to have been able to work with them and see them celebrate the beginning of the next chapter in their lives.
Things started early last February with David and Niccie traveling from the Manchester area to celebrate their fabulous wedding weekend in Hoscote.
Hoscote also made the perfect location for Alison and Paul’s spring wedding. All the spring flowers were out and I added magnolia buds, beech branches and small orchids to her natural bouquet.
Circular Ceiling Decoration
Hardeep and Ives were married in Mellerstain in May. A fabulous Sikh-Christian fusion wedding, there were beautiful sarees galore!
Nicola and Paul had a beautiful wedding in Hoscote in June. The garden was full of color and a beautiful owl delivered her ring.
Wendy and Bernie hosted a two day wedding extravaganza at The Buccleuch Arms! An intimate wedding ceremony with your closest friends and family and 100 guests for a party with Scottish dancers and local haggis the next day.
