I’m blessed to have been blessed with quite a few, so when my friend Cathy asked me to help her style and decorate an event she was hosting, I jumped at the chance.

To be clear, the concept and designs were hers, but it was a pleasure to give my input and energy to create a ballroom full of April Fools in Paris.

Paris Apartment Decor: A French Style Guide

The event was a business gathering, but the decoration was a pleasure. Given the time of year, Cathy decided on an April in Paris theme and each of the tables were dressed in a different concept, all related to the chosen theme and all put together by our small DIY team.

Since there are a lot of images covered in this post, I’ll be brief in my descriptions, but feel free to ask questions in the comments below if you’d like more information on how any of the hubs were created.

One of our favorite concepts revolved around whimsical French dresses presented in mannequin shapes. The French maid above was festive and frilly, beaded and feathered and accessorized with a lace parasol and embellished mask.

Ooh La La! Parisian Inspired Party

Most of the tables were studded with fake petals and pink votives, some strewn with pearls and feathered fans. French boxes were everywhere, used for height or to decorate the edges.

Some of the tables were mainly decorated with flowers, but each with its own unique concept. The champagne bucket above functions as a vase and is placed on a circular wine tray, surrounded by other decorative items.

No Paris theme is complete without an Eiffel Tower (in fact, we had several), and the wine above features wine bottles with French labels.

Two Holiday Tablescape Designs

In addition to the felt dolls, we also used wire bodies, here dressed in a ballet theme, with a tulle tutu and draped ballet slippers.

The same event last year had a Mardi Gras theme. If you’ve seen this post, you might remember feather spray. We brought this concept back in a more Parisian tone, with letters spelling out ‘April in Paris’ around the base.

The lace gloves are placed in the boxes and the theme pictures are framed and placed nearby. (You can see last year’s decorations at Mardi Gras Centerpieces.)

Another piece that channels both Paris and spring is the flower-embellished wire parasol, with ruffles, votives and petals.

Several people chose the table above as their favorite of the collection, with a beautiful heart of pink flowers and an assortment of pink candies in stunning glass holders. The square glass vase contains pink French kisses, all presented in a flower tray.

I was a big fan of the cage table, with lanterns decorated with candles and flowers in the cages. Housed in decorative boxes, the multi-tiered centerpiece provided a delightful glimpse of the coming spring.

Paris Party Decorations Ideas (that Are Chic And Not Cheesy)

Flowers were also used to decorate the bar, with roses, hydrangeas, hyacinths and more all tucked away in a chippy French planter.

The feather theme was carried over to the other side of the room, in a very tall piece with sprigs of pearl inside. Parasols and flowers complete the package.

There were also some great concept centres, serving French art as well as books and music. The paintings were marked as museum pieces and people enjoyed walking around the table to see everything on it.

An additional mannequin was dressed as a can-can dancer, with feather fans on her feet and layered beads around her neck.

There were several tables adorned with string-lit Eiffel Towers with lush flowers at the base and French decorations flanking the centerpiece.

Another ballet dancer included leg warmers with pointed shoes and a bucket of flower garden adorned the table.

The inspiration piece for this table was my illuminated Eiffel Tower. I picked this up a few years ago at Michael’s. I added heart-shaped stickers to the Eiffel Tower for this special occasion.

I planned this beautiful silver and white Paris winter themed dinner party for New Year’s Eve and then the big party invitation arrived, so switch to Valentine’s Day! I changed it and this will be our Valentine’s dinner with the table all red, white and silver. Grab a bottle of champagne and celebrate!

Coffee Table Decor Ideas

I added some puffy little hearts to the Eiffel Tower and flashed a bottle of champagne in red. My color scheme is mainly silver and white with just a slight hint of red accents. The table will be set like this with a silver and white tablecloth, silver sequined placemats, red chargers, white plates with silver ruffles are paired with matching bread plates and salad plates that look in mercury glass. You can use a plain white plate to create a similar look. My everyday cutlery, Oneida’s Classic Shell, excels there.

Even in Florida it can get a little chilly in the evening, so I think putting the leather sheets on the chairs would add some luxury. Although I’m not a big fan of Paris, my husband thinks I should use this frame on the table and maybe put the food service inside. This is one of the large Ikea Ung Drill frames. I’ve used it so many times in so many different ways, but I painted it silver for my Winter Wonderland tablescape and was so pleased with how it looked in silver, I was eager to use it again. Dress up a table. I had this little Eiffel Tower that used to house a clock. I think I’ll fill it with red roses from Trader Joe’s for dinner next week.
