We make beautiful pop up picnics for 2 – 100 people! Picnic tables, blankets and cushions and a beautiful variety of table decorations are included. This past weekend, my family and I had a backyard bridal shower picnic for someone special! We had creative control for the most part but we were instructed that it should be picnic style. Now, you may or may not know, that I started this blog 5 years ago mainly to share hacks for parties such as baby showers, Eid parties, etc. So you know that being like this is for us. It’s natural and we enjoy being creative with them hosting parties!

Of course, I don’t take credit for the definition. It was a joint effort of parents, siblings, cousins ​​and good friends. Between us we divided ourselves into committees such as food, decor, games and building a team. I’m going to break down the whole event for you so you can recreate this awesome backyard picnic!

After going back and forth on the venue, we decided to host the event in my parent’s backyard. My father set up 2 big tents side by side. One for sitting and another for eating with plenty of room to socialize in between.

My dad and cousin also built a table to sit on using plywood and some scrap wood. He made 3 8 foot tables for a total of 24 feet. I wasn’t part of the committee so I can’t give you the details of how they built it, but just know that they are master carpenters😂

Finally they covered the grass with a tarp and between all my brothers’ houses we collected all the carpets that were not in use and placed them on top of the tarp.

Ok this is the fun part! Of course this was the committee I was a part of. Disclaimer: We have been doing “party planning” (for family) with bridal showers, weddings, baby showers for over a decade, we already have a collection of decor items. We mainly reuse items that we have in another way. However, we bought a few things to match the theme.

We made a last minute decision to set up a tent and it was definitely the right decision! The theme was blush pink and burgundy so we changed those colors in the tent. In the part where the bride sat, we draped 2 colorful curtains to add a subtle background.

We also made flower arrangements from the tent we made for the previous event. The flower arrangement was super easy to make and all the materials were found at the dollar store. We used green floral blocks and dollar store flowers to create the hanging arrangement. Suspend them with string or you can use invisible string.

The table cape was most of the bridal shower decorations and the prettiest if I do say so myself! The goal was to fill the center with a mixture of candles, lanterns, flowers and greenery. Since the theme was blush pink and burgundy, we went with a 30 foot blush pink satin tablecloth and a burgundy table runner. Dishes were also added to each sitting.

Fortunately, we carried small bottles of apple cider. I designed and printed labels to get there. Here is the pattern of the design I made. Feel free to make your own!

The main parts were actually particularly enjoyable. Two days before the event, I went thrifting and found a variety of matching vases anywhere from $.30-$.90. I also found tons of candle holders in all shapes, sizes and colors. I painted the candlesticks gold to match the theme. Finding decor doesn’t have to be expensive, check your local thrift store to see what you can use. All you need is a little imagination and an open mind.

Flowers were found at Costco and Trader Joe’s. My cousin did all the flower arrangements. She says she doesn’t know what she’s doing, but I find it hard to believe!

So we planned to sit on the floor for a while because we wanted to be as frugal as possible. We bought pillowcases in advance and searched Facebook Marketplace or neighborhood yard sales for pillows that people were giving away. We got the free pillows most of all and it was a huge win!

If you can’t find pillows or need them in a hurry, I would check IKEA for a wide variety of pillows in all sizes.

Picnics — My Tentastic Parties

The biggest part of any event is the food and this was no joke! Hats off to my sister-in-law for planning and executing this huge grazing table. It can be assumed that she headed the food committee 😂

The incident occurred during brunch, so there was a mix of breakfast items such as waffles and lunch items such as soaps and pasta. I can’t even figure out how she did it so I’m going to share lots of pictures so you can see for yourself. Most of the items were found at Costco and Trader Joe’s. Halal deli meat is found at your local halal butcher shop.

She did a great job mixing and presenting the food in different cutting styles, bowls and trays! Did he do it or what? !!My kids finally got my passion for throwing a great party and setting a really nice table – or at least for their friends. So when my teenage daughter was thinking about her birthday party, she accepted my offer to plan it. We settled on a trendy Moroccan party, and chose the shade of their huge elm tree to have dinner with everything on the grass – lawn picnic style.

Every girl’s lawn picnic birthday party needs flowers – these blush peonies in white vases feed the teenage girl!

My friends at Harmony Boards actually came through and brought a beautiful fruit and cheese board and two vegetable boards for the lawn picnic – the girls were excited to nibble on them all night. Awesome and functional!

Pink peonies were in season for my daughter’s birthday party – so lucky Trader Joe’s had a huge selection of these beauties!

World Market’s sparkling pink lemonade and limeade was a huge hit and mixed with my Moroccan party colors

Overhead shot of this fun table! The carpet helps to define the space and gives softness to the area. I used a coffee table for the patio and covered it with a white linen tablecloth to give it a low to the ground grass picnic feel!

Wooden bowls with engravings, placed at either end of the table, were great for dipping hummus to hold bread, crackers and slices of pita.

How stunning is this abundance of fresh vegetables? There were a few vegetarians at the party so make sure they have something to eat too!
