Sea Themed Table Decorations – Recently I decorated the candlestick with aqua colored shells. It provides inspiration for this week’s table settings.
We had the most beautiful spring in Georgia. Many mild days with occasional rain. Is your apartment nice too? I wish every spring was like this.

How To Decorate A Beach Themed Table
I saw the wine glasses at Pier 1 a few months ago and loved the color for a summer table setting.
Aqua reminds me of summer skies and sea waves. China came from Kohls four years ago.
Come a little closer and look at the folds of this napkin. It has to be one of the easiest napkin folds.
This Boho Beach Theme Party Is A Ticket To Tulum!
Can you tell what it is? Yes… Sulaiman! My napkins aren’t too stiff…a starched napkin would probably work better. I’ll be putting together a tutorial post soon for making these super easy folds. In the meantime, if you’re looking for great napkin folds for your Spring/Summer table setting, check out the Table Setting category at the top of the blog. There you will find the category napkin folds and there is a cute sailboat napkin fold linked there.
Oops, forgot to photograph the starfish salad plate. If you want to see it better, check out the previous beach-themed table settings. I also use it in this table decoration.
I had a lot of shells left over when decorating these candle holders. (For a tutorial showing how I attached the seashells to the candlesticks, see this post: Decorating Lanterns With Seashells
Summer Farm Table Decorating Ideas
I also used some of the leftover seashells to decorate wine glass stems. I drilled a small hole in the top of each bowl just like the previous beach/seaside table decorations. Then I just put a piece of jute thread through the hole and tied it to the stem of the glasses. This is how they look decorated with three shells.
And this is how they look when a bowl adorns the glass. I alternately saw three shells and single shells around the table.
These iced drink glasses in table decorations were only $1 each at Dollar Tree last summer. They’re covered in the cutest Adirondack chairs. can you see it now Adirondack chairs in bright summer colors all lined up on the beach. I chose the bright yellow to sit on… what color did you choose? We really relaxed and sipped our cold drinks while the sea waves lapped at our toes and the salty breeze kissed our faces. Here, let me freshen up your drink. A cherry or two? 🙂
Whimsical Beachy Mermaid Tablescape
As I was taking a picture of this table decoration, I heard a loud buzzing noise. I know that sound! I looked behind me and there he was…a cute little hummingbird humming under the pergola looking for a food bowl which I usually hang on the outdoor chandelier every spring. It’s amazing how they remember the feeders of years past and come back to eat. I stopped taking photos and ran inside to mix some nectar. In the background you can see the feeder hanging. I’m not sure if he ever came back. I hope he does. I like watching them through the kitchen window and from the porch. (Pssst: I made a video of a hummingbird feeding at the bird feeder in August 2010. Just click on the link in the paragraph above to see the video.)
Now that I’m finally using my camera with manual settings, I like to play around with the aperture and sharpen focus on one part of the table while blurring the other. The photo below was taken with my D7000, AF-S Nikkor 35mm 1.8G lens, ISO setting 100, aperture f1.8 and shutter speed 1/60 second. I really like this 35mm lens for photographing table settings. Really lets in so much light!
