Table Decor Dinner Party – HOSTING TIPS 05.30.21 It’s official: dinner party season is here! This is how I made a summer clay table in my backyard
It’s official: It’s backyard party season, and I know I’m not the only one who wants to shout “Hooray!” I feel the sunlight on my skin every time I go out from the roof. We are at the beginning of summer when I want to eat every single meal out. And this year, after a winter of hiding behind masks and Zoom calls, we’re especially festive. As we emerge from our social distancing caves and gather again with friends and family, my focus is on bright seasonal recipes and simple table setting ideas to lift the mood. It doesn’t take much: think a beautiful tablecloth or a set of handmade bowls that sit in the center of a minimal table.
Table Decor Dinner Party
I’ve come up with some cute things to enhance your table setting for brunch, BBQ and dinner parties. For me, the table is a place to be creative and express my personal style through food and aesthetics that make me happy. And it doesn’t take much to make a table feel really special.
How To Throw An Elegant Winter Dinner Party
My formula for the perfect table setting? Simple fabrics, a few candles, handmade dishes and decorative touches inspired by the natural world.
By layering my items with a few different spins on these four elements, I can change things up based on the seasons and gatherings, and my table is always fresh and inspired. Read on for the dinner table I set up in my backyard last week – I’ll break it down with my design process and the exact products I used. Then, head over to my Instagram to see this video later this afternoon.
Concept: This table is basically a combination of everything I love: pleated linen napkins, handmade pottery, textured details in neutral colors. My inspiration is vegetables and spring greens and they play an important role in my dinner menu along with garnishes.

These August Sage bowls are inspired by the sky and land of West Texas with the desert vibe I’m feeling so much this season. They have a lot of weight and I like that each one is unique. Buy here:
When I set the dinner table, I usually keep a base of items I love (like this linen tablecloth and ceramic pitcher), then add a few special new items I have each season. The great thing about sticking to a palette of neutrals in general is that you can randomly mix and match – if you only have 3 or 4 of a particular type of cup or bowl, alternate each one and make it intentional. . It’s all about connecting the dots, so don’t overthink it – just go with the flow.

This handmade stoneware pitcher looks sophisticated, but at $15 total it’s a steal. It made a great craft vase for the spring tulips I found at the flower market this morning. Buy here:
Here I told you about mixing and matching neutrals. I was determined to use that desert-inspired stoneware I’m obsessed with, but I didn’t have any other pieces from the collection. So, I paired it with Anthropologie’s shiny dinner plates and I love creating a unique combination that’s all mine. These recycled glasses, handmade by artisans in Morocco, are my summer favorites: they’re the perfect multi-purpose size for white wine or sparkling water, and I love that they add a little texture while being simple. Each glass has natural variation, recycled glass color and subtle bubbles. They are a steal at just $8 a glass.
I’m usually a fiddle with the sheets – you’ll never see me ironing a starched tablecloth, that’s for sure! That said, there’s just something about a stonewashed linen tablecloth, especially in the warmer months. The weather is pleasant and makes me feel like I’m in an Italian villa having a long lazy lunch.
How To Throw A French Dinner Party
Since I didn’t have a tablecloth big enough to fit on the floor, which I imagined, I used two plain white tablecloths I’ve had for years (one of which was actually an old curtain). Yes! After the opponent has been stacked on all four sides of the table.
Let’s talk about these beautiful pebble green linen tablecloths. I love how warm and earthy they are to our environment. Handmade in India, the linens are Belgian linen and you can feel the quality in their soft fabric.
Another steal are these soapstone candle holders I found at Target. I honestly couldn’t believe how hard they felt to be affordable. It’s a timeless piece that I know I’ll be pulling out time and time again for holiday parties and casual dinners.
Planning The Perfect Dinner Party: Table Decor And Atmosphere
My original plan was to skip the flowers and instead let my farmer’s market be my table decoration – I like to have fresh fruits and vegetables in a wooden bowl or a woven tray for a centerpiece. . Is that simply beautiful. But then I saw these tulips in the flower market and went…
The tulips were so stunning that I wanted their beautiful colors and ruffled edges to take center stage, so I placed them in this simple white vase (above) and then finished off the rest of the table with a simple serving board and a large Keep the. At least a bowl full of lemons.
These hand-painted plates are made in Portugal with a beautiful design that is versatile enough to mix and match with other pieces. The combination of type and badges (with just the subtlest of hints) makes them feel really special, while sticking to my neutral palette around the table.
Diy Valentine’s Day Decorations
Amiri’s “summer in the atmosphere of the Riviera”? I walked into the new LoveShackFancy store in Austin the other day and immediately fell in love with five white dresses. I had to pick one (sorry, very tight budget), so I settled on this sun-ready Lupita midi dress in pristine white. It is a precious luxury because I can wear it at any time in any season. (price per dress, do you feel me?)
Another must-have for any outdoor dinner party is a sturdy tray for moving food and utensils from the kitchen. This sleek seaweed tray complements my beach style—when I’m not using it to hold glassware, it usually sits on my dining room table full of citrus.
I hope you guys have some easy table setting ideas for hosting your summer dinner party! Fall Harvest Dinner Party
A baby shower is something every mother appreciates, no matter what the occasion. In the time of Covid-19, you’re probably planning a virtual baby shower or a social distancing drive, as these are smart and safe ways to celebrate in light of the pandemic. However, if you’re celebrating in the middle of your home or quarantine pod, you can enjoy many of the traditions expected of a baby shower. One of them? An arrangement table with centerpieces.
Centerpieces should speak to the overall theme and decor of your baby’s bathroom. Does mother enjoy literature? Throw a shower based on her childhood favorite and celebrate like work
And anything written by Dr. Seuss. If she’s a Francophile, take her to the French countryside with flower towers and macarons. In one concept, create a wooden wonderland with miniature animals perched on artificial bases. Balloons elevate the scene and add height and dimension to your decor. Plus, there are plenty of eco-friendly options these days. It’s always a good idea to consider the color palette: sweet pastels, bright candy colors, and muted colors are found in nature. Flowers are always welcome, too: choose iconic varieties like baby’s breath (also known as gypsophila), a delicately simple flower that evokes innocence and purity. Others include acacia, buttercup, white camellia, and daisies. They can be displayed in cloches, cups, tiered stands, or traditional vases. The simple addition of a centerpiece elevates the table setting and sets the festive tone.
