My home style is defined by subtle feminine colors punctuated with a touch of bling, so it goes without saying that this Christmas my table will be full of pink and gold.

I have been happy to find peonies in the flower shop for the past few weeks, and even more so, my favorite color, soft pink.

I had already decided this was the palette I wanted to work with so I knew it had to feature prominently on my holiday table.

I also crushed on this gilded vessel, so that the marriage led right there to my table.

No question, I’m a mix-matcher and I approach my tablescapes the same way I approach my cameras. I pick a color feel and a pattern or two, and want the rest to blend in comfortably.

Here I started with gold chargers with two different cream textured plates. The crowning touch is a small plate of china with gilt-edged grape flowers.

The napkins are a blush linen ruffle gathered in a copper napkin ring. The combination of gold and copper reflects the use of various shades of pink as well as white mixed with cream.

The key is to stay on the warm side of the color wheel and keep everything soft and subtle

I am over the moon in love with these flutes and glasses. They are actually quite small but they make a bold statement on the table.

I wanted to create a beautiful table that was not too Victorian and modern but not too sparse. Finally, and most importantly, I wanted to turn this Christmas table into a New Year’s table when Christmas was over. Click here to see how this pink Christmas table turned into a pink New Year’s table.

This table with white plates and gold glasses is the third look I’ve tried. Earlier versions featured clear plates and rose-tinted glass. I used less white plates and glasses on the table, the better. If your desk seems too busy, it probably is. Try editing a few things and see if you like it better.

This table started with a white tablecloth and bottle brush trees in various sizes and colors. I made a rose tree with a foam cone I bought at a craft store. Then I wrapped pink yarn around the cone and attached it with hot glue. I ran a glue stick all over the yard on the finished tree, then sprayed glitter everywhere.

I wrapped small gifts for the guests and placed them in the middle of the table to extend the centerpiece. Chocolates make a great take home gift. A gift doesn’t have to be extravagant, but when you take care to wrap a gift for guests to take home, they will feel special. In this case, gifts are also part of the table decorations.

I also added trim to the center piece to help extend the length of the table. Use ornaments that match the colors of your table, but make sure they match the style you want to express – in this case, a modern Christmas table.

To decorate the napkins, I used gold ribbon and gold cord. First, I put gold ribbon (hot glued together) around the napkins. Then I cut a length of gold cord to fit around the doily. I placed two small ornaments on the cord and hot glued the ends together. Finally, I added a pine cone in between the ornaments to finish off the doily.

For the Christmas table centerpiece, I lined up my entire bottlebrush tree and mini feathers in the middle of the table.

To create a pink Christmas wonderland, I added some gingerbread houses around my trees. I added mini stars and string lights around the trees and sprinkled the table with small ornaments.

Instead, on the napkin rings, I used ribbon to tie the napkins together. To bring in some Christmas red, I added candy canes and Christmas candies to cute milk jugs. Mini gingerbread cookies from Trader Joe’s add a playful touch to the table.

When I first made this table I used my gold beads but decided to use white ones instead. I remember snowflakes.

I also brought my white Christmas tree into the living room to create the perfect backdrop for this Christmas Wonderland tablescape. I know, don’t judge :).
