Oasis is a special type of rigid foam to which flower stems can be attached when arranging flowers. It also provides a source of water to attract flowers, keeping them fresh. Water can be added to the foam days after the arrangement is completed, like a vase. Comes in many different shapes and sizes to fit your unique project. Today we use the “ring” style in 6 inches and 8.5 inches.
Fill the bucket with water and place the oasis on top. Do not press in water, it will quickly absorb naturally. In the case of rings that have a plastic bottom, you will want to place them with foam in the water. It takes a few minutes to fully absorb the water. Some tips for Oasis:

For these wreath style centerpieces, we started by creating a greenery base using Dusty Miller. These leaves tend to be slightly hanging and soft, so push the stem into the Oasis at the base of the leaf. Then add your large focal flower, in this case White Amaryllis. Fill in the gaps between the large white flowers and the White Tulips, then finish off the design by adding some curly pine sprigs here and there. Look at your layout to make sure the entire Oasis is covered, if you can see the foam – then add flowers and leaves!
Craftsman tip: I made an arrangement in the fabric because as the flower stems are added to the Oasis, the water is pushed out and onto the table, the fabric soaks it up!

The difference in this arrangement from the beginning is that one of the wreaths is raised above a candle holder. To attach the Oasis ring to the candle holder, we attached it to the base with waterproof floral tape. Soak the Oasis before gluing it to the stand, then use the same editing technique as above!
To properly remove the pollen from the flower petals, round the end of a chenille rod (pipe cleaner) and wipe it over the pollen. You may want to simply wipe the nectar out with your fingers, but this will bruise and eventually turn the petals brown due to the oil on your skin!
Glue the toothpicks to the end of the candy with waterproof floral tape to create a decoration that will stay in the foam!

1. Immerse the oasis ring in the water until the bubbles stop appearing. Don’t press it, as this can cause air bubbles to enter the oasis, creating dry spots – and unhappy plants!
2. Place the oasis on a flat place, plastic side down. Place the candles in the container, space them evenly in the ring, then push them firmly into place.
3. Cut the fir into 10 cm pieces. Starting at the outer edge of the ring, push the fir branch into the oasis at a slight angle, making sure to keep the same angle all the way around. When you are done, make sure the oasis is completely covered.

4. Repeat on top of the ring, position the pieces of fir around the candles, but be careful not to get them too close to the wicks, or they may reveal
